Jim Phipps passed away Tuesday and was buried today in Janesville, IL. Those who's lives were touched by Jim, will not soon forget him. In his Eulogy today, he was called "probably the best known high school baseball coach in the country". Niles West's Phipps field is named in his honor.
He was a WWII vet, a father, a coach and a rock steady human being. I am fortunate for having known him.
