Little league banned all composite bats, for all levels...

Is there a way to check if a bat is legal before making the purchase? I wonder if the bats that have a composite handle and aluminum barrel will be legal.

This might answer some questions. Just composite barreled bats are banned.

What bats for the 2011 LL season? Were not many alloy bats before - TPX EXO? Just had picked a Stealth Speed for my son and now I need something different. Alloy for LL - different bat for AAU.

What are the better alloy bats? Like to pick up a LL bat and the same type for a Big Barrell

Son is long past LL so I don't pay much attention to the new rules although we do watch the LLWS every year. I have a question for you LL parents- does LL allow leading off now????

kaos, a few years ago when my youngest was 12, he borrowed a techzilla from a teammate who had moved in from LL land. My boy had swung big barrels since he was 7, yet he was somewhat impressed with the techzilla for what it was, an alloy 2 1/4" LL bat. Exo's are great bats too. In LL approved sizes, they were dirt cheap last summer on eBay. Looks like the LL composite ban has bumped the price up, but you still ought to be able to find a new blue or yellow LL model for under a $100. If your 12 y/o is good sized & really strong, might pick up a really hot -3 bat for AAU ball. NFHS banned -3 bats like the Stealth Speeds are getting really cheap.

CaBB, No little leaguers here, but LL through 12 y/o's still have the 60ft base paths, so still no stealing.

Little League: Yes to stealing. No to lead offs. Base runners have to stay on the base until the pitch/ball pass the batter.

thanks, i meant no lead offs. Both of my boys were blessed to play open bases in youth ball. Last time they played by the restrictive stealing rules, both were 7 years old.
