Dan Brewer from Lyons Township and Bradley university is getting some oportunities at the Yankees major league camp and is hitting around .375 with some playing time in left and right field.

Ryan Crowley (Morton HS) has had a great two years at Northwest Florida State College. Ryan has signed with College of Charleston for next year but his draft stock keeps rising.

Ryan is currently 4-0.

Former Naper Central Rhp Soph Pat Kaminska is throwing up tremendous numbers at Logan this Spring.

Mike Letster (Johnsburg) is batting .373 and leading Butler in home runs and extra base hits. Congrats.

Matt Igara (Jacobs & Heartland) is leading the Western Illinois team with a .362 ba and also in extra base hits.

Nick Martini (Prairie Ridge) is leadin k-state in batting avg and also was reported to set an ncaa record with reaching base safely in 87 consecutive games.

Ryan Court (dundee Crown) is second in batting avg at illinois state along with 5 home runs.

Christian Friedrich (Eastern Kentucky) sorry I fogot the high school but was from the northshore of Chicago. Going to double A for the rockies also threw 6 inning exhibition game against the major league club and allowed no runs and struck out 7, yes against the regular roster. Also was invited to Major League camp this year.

Hard to believe that time has gone by so fast. My child is a senior now and having a great season. She will get to play in college and so, we are so excited about the future. I made the switch this year to coach her for her senior year. It has been a lot of fun.

Pete Cappetta University of Illinois (Montini) named co player of week for the big 10. He was 8-12 over the weekend with 3 rbi and 5 runs scored. Included in those hits were a home run and double for a 1000 sligging and 714 on base percentage

Luke Mottashed (Cary-Grove) at Heartland Community is hitting .402 with 5 home runs, 2 tripples and 6 doubles.

Jared Grundy (Johnsburg) anodhter fox valley player at Heartland is 5-1 on the mound with 54 k's in 44 innings.

Casey Crosby really pitching well in AA. ERA under 3.00 in over 50 innings.

Congrats to the University of Illinois and the run they had at the end of the year with the big 10 Championship followed by a great showing in the Cal State Fulerton regional. They eliminated both K-State and Fullerton before losing out to Stanford. Nice Job!
