I was always surprised the Friedrich didn't get the love from the baseball media that seemed so deserving of a person dominating the way he was. Everyone I knew that saw the kid personally did nothing but rave about him. Based on those discussions, I doubt any of those people are the least bit shocked by him being prognosticated as a future MLB #1.

Martini, who played HS ball at Prairie Ridge (Crystal Lake, IL), currently has a 20-game hitting streak, good enough for third in school history. Martini also is batting .374 and has 24 RBI. K-State is 20-3 heading into a weekend series against Texas Tech.

Freshman Tanner Witt 2B, from Lake Zurich is getting some chances to play on that team also. He went 2-4 vs. a very good Wichita State team on Tuesday in a KSU 8-3 victory.
