rz1 is heading out to NY 8/1-4 to take in some Staten Island Yankee games and other activities in the area.

If any HSBBW websters are in the area and would like to catch a game or just get together for an adult beverage let me know.

Or, if anyone knows any "off the tourist track" activities and/or places to eat let me know.

btw- I am a terrible tourist and would rather see/do things that the locals find entertaining.

rz,

A few culinary alternatives.

Italian - Il Mulino (In Greenwich Village)

Seafood - Manhattan Ocean Club (On 58th Street - close to Central Park)

Steakhouse - Peter Lugers (right over the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn).

A little bit of anything - Gramercy Tavern. (20th Street)

Take a cab - dont drive - and make sure you bring ice cubes to cool off your credit card - as it will overheat at these joints.

Mangia!!!

rz1, if you eat at Il Mulino first, then you don't need to eat the rest of the week. Well, actually, you cannot eat the rest of the week because that one meal is enough to last more than a few days.
Heck, they have your plate full before you are even in your seat and look at a menu.
But it does balance out because the credit card charge looks like you were billed for several days meals.
Let's say this: Ryan's per diem won't cover the charges...or the tip!!!!
But it sure is good.
