Prayers for the Bluffton University Team

My word... My prayers go out to the team, their families, their friends, and the entire university. Shades of Marshall...

In fact, my prayers go up for all of our sons and daughters who are traveling today with big dreams and life spread out before them.

I'd heard about that on the traffic report driving to work. They initially said it was a youth team, which didn't make sense.

I dont mean to be an alarmist, but they just reported 6 dead from the accident with multiple people taken to the hospital. The picture on TV showed the bus fell off an overpass. 35 onboard. The news said 75 south will be shutdown well into the PM commute.

Thoughts and prayers are with these families as many of the children of HSBBW parents are traveling through tough weather this weekend.

It seems there has been a lot of bad news lately with the loss of the boy from Texas and now this...

the location is curious, would not typicaly be an exit for fuel, food, or lodging for a thru bus

I am seriously afraid to read the article ClevelandDad.

Not sure my heart can take it.
From the few details I have heard,...they are enough to send horrifying chills through me.

Wow, what a tragedy!! Our prayers go out to the families, community, and the university. Hope the rest of the injured can pull through soon!!

I just received a telephone call from a Webster in Atlanta and she has volunteered to open her house to anyone needing a place to stay in Atlanta that has been affected by this tragedy. Or why it happens.

The location does have gas and a motel right there and fast food about a mile down, but that doesn't look like that is what happened...

It is an odd exit. It is HOV only and comes off the HOV lane. I wonder if the driver even realized he had gotten off until it was too late.

This is tragic and horrible, and I can't imagine the sorrow engulfing these parents, this school, and this team.

My thoughts are with them.

Wow, prayers going up from Virginia. The school they were going to play is from Harrisonburg, Virginia, Eastern Mennonite University.

Another one of those horrible things that happen in life that we cannot understand. I pray the faith of the friends and family of those guys will carry them.

Prayers sent from Louisiana for all involved in the bus accident and also the tornado victims in Georgia and Alabama where 8 high school students were killed. Lord, please help the parents of all these young people find strength through you.

CNN has an update and some good explanation of the accident including 2 clips from the police and a first responder.

I'm not an ambulance chaser but feel there is nothing worse the incorrect data being passed around.

A deep sadness came over me reading this story. My prayers go out to all the victims in this terrible tragedy.

This is just making me sick to my stomach--how horrible.

If anyone knows any of these families...I live in Atlanta, and they are welcome to land in my home and come and go as needed to care for their sons.

I'll add my thoughts and prayers to the list as well. My daughter came into my bedroom this morning before I was even up to share this story... I almost got sick thinking about those kids and families. What a horrible tragedy.

We lived in Atl for many years and still have many friends in the area that I could contact regarding help with accomodations as well. I believe the Mennonite community to be a very close and strong community that will rally and provide support ... please reach out if needed.

No words can put this in perspective. The tornados that killed the students yesterday and now this. Life is so fragile. Why kids? Why not me. I will be praying for all the families. We as a family need to so something when the time is appropriate for this baseball team and families since this is a baseball family. Flowers, scholarship fund drive, heck I dont know but something. Im going to have my team do something in the near future to honor these young men.

Left Coast checking in ... just saw TPM's thread and am stunned ref the bus accident, to say the least. Prayers coming from So Cal for the surviving players and coaching staff, the loved ones who have lost players, and the school.

I, too, wonder why these things happen and have come to accept the reality that my finite mind cannot comprehend all of God's infinite design and plans. And so, as Still Learning has pointed out in the quoted scripture, I am depending on the Holy Spirit to intervene.

Our hearts cry out for those feeling the loss. It could be any of us and so quickly. Life is truly fragile. Prayers to all effected.

I read the article this morning. As I will attend a funeral tomorrow ,I wonder why it always seems bad things seem to happen to the good people. I don't know, but prayers for all involved form So Cal.
