Purdue

One of my older daughters graduated from Purdue and got a great education and enjoyed her 4 years there.

She was a member of the Boiler Babes so I saw all of the football games for 4 years.

Don't know much about the baseball program, but they made a "splash" on the national scene for a couple of weeks a few years ago. Then they disappeared.

Big dogs in the Big Ten are usually: Minnesota, Ohio State; and, most recently, Michigan.

Don't know anything about the baseball program but the university itself has a solid reputation for academics. In particular, the engineering college at Purdue is considered one of the tops in the Midwest if not nationwide.

I watched them early last year. It was their first time outdoors. They had an excellent team. Very good pitching and disciplined picky hitters. Jay Beinte? (sp) was a standout pitcher for them.

Purdue is trying to resurrect themselves as a baseball school. They have struggled at times over the last 20 years. They don't have a very good playing surface which is unfortunate. I believe they are upgrading it however so light is at the end of the tunnel. (they may have already done this). They are a very good school at picking out some decent talent in-state with very few really good players in the state of Indiana to choose from to start with this makes this even more of a challenge according to those who know.

Spencer Allen was in this past weekend to work the Cangelosi Baseball Winter Collegiate Development Camp and he did a fantastic job. He would be an excellent coach to play for.
