My son is a junior in the Chicago area. Has started to have some contact with the Purdue coaches after they had the chance to see him play a couple of times last summer/ fall and they have expressed some interest in him. He received an invite to visit the campus on their Junior day in Feb. Would appreciate any feedback on the school and the baseball program and the coaches .

One of my older daughters graduated from Purdue and got a great education and enjoyed her 4 years there.

She was a member of the Boiler Babes so I saw all of the football games for 4 years.

Don't know much about the baseball program, but they made a "splash" on the national scene for a couple of weeks a few years ago. Then they disappeared.

Big dogs in the Big Ten are usually: Minnesota, Ohio State; and, most recently, Michigan.
Purdue is trying to resurrect themselves as a baseball school. They have struggled at times over the last 20 years. They don't have a very good playing surface which is unfortunate. I believe they are upgrading it however so light is at the end of the tunnel. (they may have already done this). They are a very good school at picking out some decent talent in-state with very few really good players in the state of Indiana to choose from to start with this makes this even more of a challenge according to those who know.
