I am going to try and use GameChanger instead of my normal paper books this year. Is it necessary to be hooked up to WI-FI to use the program? Most if not all of the places we will play will not have WI-FI.

let me ask my stat guy. I know in the fall when roster are not exchanged he does it as the players go to the plate and we never have had an issue.

We pre load our roster into Game Tracker and we have ours. During the regular season we just put the other roster when we are handed the lineup. During the fall we just list the other team as 1-9. We do not use it for scouting purposes in the fall so we just need a dummy lineup to make sure our stats are up to date and correct.

We do something similar because we don't get lineups in advance (for our team or opponent). We make our best guess at our own lineup and then during warmups we enter the jersey number of every opposing player we see in the dugout. Then we add from the bench as they come to the plate.
It's not perfect and we, too, would love to believe there's an easier way, but we haven't found it either!!!

Coach Bob,
Are you doing the scoring in the dugout, or is someone outside the dugout doing it for you? The reason I ask is, I notice that you’re talking about 12U ball, and its even worse for making changes and subs than HS ball is, and I’m tryin’ to see how you’re handling them.

I'm doing it and because most of our games require us to bat everyone it's simple to just swap positions. I haven't tried to make changes with a 9 man order but I assume you do the same and for each defensive inning press the player name on the field and process them as a sub out instead of position switch.
