Sorry about that,I sure missed a good game. I just got word that Wharton shut out Newsome behind some great pitching.

I find it hard to believe these stats though.

I was told that a Wharton pitcher no-hit Newsome, with 19 strike outs and four walks. Sounds like a bit of exageration. I'll have to find out to be sure.

BASEBALL: He failed to make the final cut, but left-handed pitcher Vinny Lally was one of only 36 players chosen from 3,400 to compete for 18 spots on the USA Baseball youth national team (16 and under). The 5-foot-10 Lally will be a junior at Wharton this year.

"You can never have enough good pitching," Wildcats coach Scott Hoffman said.

Great for Vinny,congratulations.

Carmody got the win while Goforth finished it up. A few defensive lapses. They're still making contact and putting the ball in play to score runs.

This may be the first 2 W's from this team besides their school logo.

I haven't heard anything on the Gaither game.

Armwood beat Gaither last night. I didn't get a score.

Gaither plays Freedom at 2:30 this afternoon.

Bloomingdale pulled it out in the bottom of the seventh coming back with a bases loaded blooper to win.

From what I heard, the centerfielder, shortstop and second baseman all collided on the play. From the angle of the person I spoke with it looked like the centerfielder made the catch but the call went the other way.

I am so behind times.

I heard that Freedom beat Gaither that afternoon.

From what I gather the championship game was Armwood against Bloomingdale.

If this pre season tournament was an omen of the coming season, Gaither may have slipped into mediocrity.

They lost some of the best players they ever had, that middle is going to be really hard to replaced. C/SS/CF. Three top players. I wish them luck...
