Frozen Ropes Blue Sox won the North Texas Shootout in Euless this weekend going 6-0.

Blue Sox 14 Texas Dukes Red 2 (Parson WP)
Blue Sox 6 Dallas Sox 2 (Lackie WP in relief)
Blue Sox 8 Dallas Rebels 3 (Henderson WP)
Blue Sox 11 Diamond Stars 0 (Parson WP)
Blue Sox 9 Ellis County Rattlers 5 (Farrar WP)
Blue Sox 9 Dallas Rebels 6 (Lackie WP)

Several great pitching performances by Richard Parson, Garrett Henderson, Corey Brooks, Colt Farrar and Matt Lackie.

Lackie threw a 3 hitter in the championship game to wrap up the weekend.

The Blue Sox hit the ball up and down the lineup with power and small ball. It was an impressive start to our summer schedule.

Looking forward to an 18U tournament next weekend in Paris to see how the boys respond to some 18U competition.

Should be fun.

OP -- we need the Mustangs, Marshals, and Tigers to get involved in BBI! We probably won't play these teams until the AABC year-end stuff. But Frozen Ropes v DBAT -- June 6, 8:00pm, Kelly. See you there?

PD,

I agree with you on those teams playing in BBI. But I'm sure they will say we all should play in their league!!

At this time, it's looking like I won't be able to attend the game against DBAT. cry Our 13 and 18 year old teams are also playing league games that night and I will have to stay at FR to close up. I might can be there towards the end of the game if I choose to scoot over there. I hate to miss it though, it should be a really good contest.

I may be misinformed -- but I do not believe that the Tigers 16U are in Lone Star. What league includes the A's?

Dtigers Dallas Tigers team is in the Lone Star League but they are listed in the 17/18 division. I am pretty sure it is Dtiger's 16U team ... the manager has the same last name as Dtiger.

The Drillers16 went 4-1:

D16 v. Dallas Redds W 12-6
D16 v. Texas Stixx1 W 17-5

Congrats to DBAT 16!

T-Bird Dad, that is a very nice showing for a pure 15U team against steep 16U competition - way to go!

Cheapseats,

Thanks...I didn't get to go, but it sounded like the boys played well for their first outing together as a team. I know Sharp is still feeling his way with this bunch, but, as PD said, a good group of families and kids...looking forward to the summer.

Just didn't have enough starch in the shorts to get by that stout DBAT team.

Well done, AO, and you all did that despite that CF of yours... Wink

It is my understanding that Tigers 16 are in Lonestar so they can play in the 18U league. Tigers 15, Tigers 17 and Tigers 18 are in BBI Premier.

Have not seen Tigers 15 or 16 play but have been told by many that the 15s are better than 16s. Anybody seen them?

According to another thread the Tiger 15's had a tough weekend in Gainsville this past weekend in a 15U tournament, the coach was out of town, a few players were missing and a key player is injured. I know they have some very good talent so I think they will rebound nicely but I think the Tigers 16U would probably have the edge over the 15's at this point.

Nono -- the HP SS is a member of the Tigers 16U --- the HP CF is our guy! (we miss him too Wink) AWOL as well is Jerod McKinney -- Hughes Springs '08 -- currently 33-0 in 2A, awaiting Woodville in the Regional finals.

That's it, we are splitting you into three teams and balance this thing out some. Wink
I'll try to sort this out. It's confusing for me. The 16U Tiger team is playing 18 Lonestar and a 16 year old league that starts later. The 16 league is a smaller league I think and is mainly to get a bid somewhere I think. Once again, this is a combination of knowledge, and what I've heard. We played pretty bad, but for our first games I'm not too worried. Give credit to the Mustangs defense for making at least 10+ diving plays in the outfield and catching two balls on the fence. I also think the original post of how the FW Cats did is incorrect, all I know is we beat them 7-6. They were solid, and I think we faced their ace, but I don't know. He was a very good lefty.
Thanks AdultOpinion, we had a great time at the
Burkburnett Tournament.
Congrats to DBat on winning the Tournament
and Hats off to #6 clap and a great pitching job on shutting our hitters down.

Wortham's Mustangs 16u went 4-1

Wortham's Mustangs 14 Dallas Stix 5
Wortham's Mustangs 13 Frozen Ropes Titans 1
Wortham's Mustangs 11 Dallas Drillers 0
Wortham's Mustangs 14 Texan Redd 4
Wortham's Mustangs 0 DBAT 6

DTiger:

You're correct. The 16U league is the Super-8 Select run by the A's. It's a smaller, AABC sanctioned league that would be for a Mickey Mantle bid which, IMO, you should have no problem doing. It's got the A's, Blackhawks, Redhawks, Heat, a couple of Cats teams, among others.
