The Texas Collegiate League All Star Game will be held Monday, July 9th, at TCU's Lupton Stadium. It will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest at 7:05.

Rosters had 5 players I'd coached over the years.
Pretty neat to see kids get older and have success.

Game photographer which did our wedding pictures......
Head Trainer Danny Wheat who was in Texas when I was there. Many crazy nights with that dude.
And ole' grey bearded Rusty. Man the old Rooster is looking older.
Other than that, pretty boring game actually. The wood bat and good arms make for a little different ball game.
Fun though I must say.

I was impressed by the pitching. Whitmer, Maj, Testa, Young were all throwing nasty stuff.

Yes it is.
Whitmer is an '06 from Kilgore here in East Texas who played for Florida State this past season. Although the announcers still referred to him as a Florida State player, he actually is transferring this upcoming semester to Texas.
In addition, Texas signed another '06 pitcher in Lufkin Hudson's Brandon Belt (San Jacinto JC).
Although everyone is focusing on '07's and '08 signings, UT just pulled off two of the best '06 signings in my opinion to be had. Both of those young men are great pitchers that will be added to an already great UT recruiting class for the upcoming season.
