Okay gals, do you realize baseball season is right around the corner? Three weeks for us. Son won't be totally released from ACL surgery until the 10th, first game the 25th. (He has been pitching though.) Today, my heart started pounding and out came the tums. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Can't wait. When are all of your first games?

Don't want to brag but.....I am packed and ready for our first tournament of the year. A little cool but should be sunny and in the 50's. Mine aren't old enough for HS yet, but should still be tons of fun. Our first complete tournament with a new team. I am soooooo excited that baseball is here again!!!!!
Well my 10 1/2 year is actually trying out early for a team out of Sac. He is hoping to make the "developmental" team. Probably a good place for him to start. He's a lefty pitcher too but seems to get a little "shell-shocked" when he tried to hold runners on for the first time.

The tournament will be at the new Big League Dreams in Manteca. Most of the kids are 13u but it looks like they've asked a couple of 14's too. It should be fun.

Where is your son playing? I grew up down south but moved the day after I graduated HS to wonderful Northern Cal.
My son is at OSU. We are even further north than you. Enjoy those traveling days as those are the best memories. Great friendships come from those teams. My son started traveling at 10, a left handed pitcher but also caught and played outfield. He is recovering from a tore ACL this past summer but almost ready to go. Really making mom nervous. I really do live on tums during baseball season though.
Our Son plays in his first college game the Feb 10 & 11 in Greensboro, NC...we figure it will be really cold since we have had mild weather lately ...Mother's Nature Revenge is expected ... I hope he sees some time on the field...he did very well in the fall...the strange thing will be seeing him in the outfield since he was pretty much an infielder throughout the years...a new path to go down...he will do well. For those of you in cold weather areas I say "Keep warm" and my husband says staying warm is "not a fashion statement". Good luck to all your teams unless of course you should happen to face my Son (not likely though). I hope none of our Sons have any serious injuries this year. God Bless!
Mary Clare - It is exciting to think about their baseball year starting, isn't it!! We've been speculating the same in regards to weather.... sooner or later, we have to have some severe winter weather. Oh well, as long as they play, most of us will be bundled up and present! Smile My son's first game is Feb 17, but he's a pitcher, so I don't know what they'll do with the rotation that first weekend. I'll be there regardless and hopin' to get to see him on the field at some point! Good luck to your son and team as well! Play ball!!
