Son has a 4 year old outfielders mitt that was a very expensive gift and sentimental and he really wants to keep using it. But the leather has softened to the point where it makes it difficult to catch a ball at times. Are there companies that might be able to fix the problem? Relace or stiffen the leather a bit?

Thanks!

try "glove repair near me" and "glove relacing near me" on google. there are often local old-timers who do this kind of work for a reasonable price. there are also plenty of reputable places that you can send the glove to. most will have a gallery of before and after photos. relacing and leather conditioning can really bring a worn glove back to life.

I used these guys to relace and reconditioned my dad’s high school glove.  The glove is over 50 years old!  They did a phenomenal job, to the point I had to break it in after I got it back.  I shipped it to them and their tracking was great.  Price was very fair, I thought.  Website has some good before and after photos and vids.

Hope this helps.  DM with any questions you may have.
