Several months ago, one of the moms on this site posted about her neighbors who had just found out the father/husband had been killed in Iraq. I wish I could remember who posted. I was just wondering how the family is doing now.
You are right ... it was Shortstopmom ... back in November, dad with a large family. I checked out the thread ... here is a link Spare a prayer
I am under the impression that Shortstopmom is closely affiliated with the military ... perhaps a military wife? on a military base?
I am sure it was a difficult holiday time for that family. Those times, the first holidays, always seem the heaviest when a loved one is gone from us forever. Always makes my heart heavy.
The family is strong and they are coping as well as can be expected.
During our school winter holiday band concert, one of the daughters participating, rose and dedicated a particular song to her recently deceased father.
We stood silent and with tears.
I again, thank everyone for their out pouring of support and well wishes for this outstanding American family and for those of us who were so saddened.
shortstopmom, thanks so much for the update. Am so glad to hear they're doing OK. I can only imagine the gulp in your throats as you heard his daughter dedicate that song. I know I had a gulp when I read it.
