Was talking with someone today and they suggested that the Sox can win 30 in a row!

Can't imagine, but you never know. I predicted that they would go 120-42 this season. If they get a journeyman centerfielder, they could go 140-22.

Anyone know what the longest winning streak (modern era after 1950) is? American League? MLB?

Go White Sox!

Congrats to Hall of Famer Greg Maddux starting 4-0. So much for MLB "advance scouts". He hasn't topped 84 in his outings and he's mostly 79-82...Saw a ton of 77...lowest was 74.

Cards still haven't figured it out...Of course, they only have 3 players and hamburgers at 2nd, left, right and catcher. Who are they trying to fake out?

Loved it when their centerfielder, who is hitting .173, asked the ump to check the ball. Gees!

Thought they were good and quite fortunate/lucky last year.
Haven't seen much luck/karma for them this year but have seen alot of real good pitching, hitting, and defense.
Injuries would appear to be only impediment to playoffs.
Not quite ready to put on my Ray Rayner Cub/Sox dual hat but am convinced they're very talented.
The Indian's looked somewhere between awful and intimidated last night.

Victor Martinez can't throw and has NO hustle (cost the Tribe a run), Belliard played lazy, Boone looked like he didn't care, Broussard couldn't bend over to catch a ball that would have saved a run. What's up with these guys?

Just an obsevation...after watching a lot of D1 baseball where lack of effort rarely happens, I was reminded of the NBA!

Cleveland fan's were booing the wrong person/team.
sneeked out of work & attended the matine

The SOX looked somewhere between awful and intimidated today.

Vic Martinez DID throw out his 1rst guy today in Ozuna . . .
however - he IS batting .381 with 5 HR/20 RBIs & has reached base in 41 straight games back to '05 Smile

Crede was the Sox "star" as he managed to get "A" RBI . .
did Dye even play, I forget?
Uribe seems to be coming on strong as he popped (1) OUT all the way to the outfield

oh - and Buehrle's fritst inning 1-1 pitch to Hafner for a 3 run tape-measure shot Eek

Bee...After reading your post, I wasn't sure which team leads the division and which team is hovering above .500.

Indians are going nowhere.

Ozzy hasn't figured out that Hafner has an "all-or-none" swing and keeps pitching to him. I'm walking him in all of the key situations.

We'll give the Indians...Brian Anderson and all of the bubble gum in America for Sizemore.

Conference?

You east coast types are full of vim and vigor this time of year.

Victor Martinez,Belliard,Boone and Broussard played like dog's in the recent Sox series, no getting around that.

Wedge is a good manager and the Indian's can surely hit but pitching will be their achilles.

The Mets?...who knows, maybe they win that weak division in that WEAK league.....won't matter in the end, they will never get past the central division of the NL, which would ALMOST be competitive (except for the cubs/pirate's) in the superior AL!

The defending World Champs have the best record in baseball. Last night their 25th player hit a two out pinch homer to tie the game, then legged out a seeing eye single in to a double because the outfielders were playing too deep. Brian Anderson, who is getting hassled by Been made a spectacular diving catch to save an extra base hit in the ninth, then drew a walk.
People criticizing this team have to stretch to find flaws. Pitching and defense win games, which is why they have the best record even though Uribe and Anderson aren't hitting their weight. They will get better. Leading baseball with the best record while they are waiting for their players to get in a groove isn't too bad. Name a third baseman better than Crede. Didn't someone on this site take Aramis over him? What a joke.
Oz should move Anderson down in, or out of the order. Ozuna can make any play in centerfield that Anderson can, and his arm rivals Anaheim's rightfielders. Additionally, he has much better speed than BA too. Until Anderson starts hitting, he is not close to Ozuna's game. Play Ozuna, and give Anderson his innings until he is ready to go full time.
