I'm a newbie and have some answers to your questions. If you have Wal-Mart nearby, check out their Gatorade stock. Here in Cincinnati, many powdered flavors are available- fruit punch, glacier freeze, fierce grape, etc... Also, Powerade does make powder in a few flavors- mountain cooler (the blue one- not sure I have the name right), fruit punch and I think lemon-lime. I find that at Kroger (grocery chain). Hope that helps!

FWIW - We have seen Walker Kelly pitch against one of the top lineups possible. (Chet Lemon Juice) They are far from average having nearly every player heading to top DI programs including U of Texas. They also have several potential high draft picks on that team. I think everyone would call them more than a legit program. Walker Kelly pretty much dominated that line up. Everyone has a bad day once in awhile, but I don't think Walker will have many of those at the high school level. JMO

go to any grocery store and go to the frozen dinners section. There should be frozen boneless chicken breasts. If not go to a Costco,PriceMart,or Sams club(wholesale stores)and they are sure to have frozen boneless chicken breasts Heres recipe I like: 1 Chicken Breast unthawed cut half a lemon, drizzle over chicken once unthawed, lightly salt.Throw on stove or grill. Tastes good, and is a healthy alternative for guys like us baseball players needing a protien filled food.

Everyone knows how to cook a good brat or burger at a tailgate. The key is what to serve with it. Here are a couple ideas. Blasted Tailgate Tomatoes: This is a great quick side dish for tailgating. Use a camp stove and a wok. Put some olive oil in a wok, add a double handful of pine nuts and roast them in the olive oil. Once they brown up, add a large helping of cherry tomatoes to the wok and start tossing everything together. You want the tomatoes warm, not "cooked". Immediately add about a...

Don't have any idea to the overall percentages, but the highest level "travel" teams would be 90% to 100%. In some cases its 90% or more going on to "DI" schools to play. Someone needs to figure out who the top 200 or so travel teams are (wait! we already do that to a certain extent) Then those teams are in the top category. The rest will obviously be a "much" smaller percentage. Guess its possible, if not probable, that some are at 0%. We just don't see any of those teams and for the most...

I think it is way too early for a Top 10 list. He are the players I think are the best in their classes as of now. Senior - Michael Taylor (Apopka) - Team One's No. 1 ranked high school player. My guess is he could go as high as the No. 3 pick of the Mets. He is clearly way abovge anyone else in Central Florida, as this is a weak senior class. Junior - John Matulia (Eustis) - This young man is clearly a five tool player. he runs well, hit for average and power, had a plus arm and is an...

I stated earlier that the reason you use fair slot money is give yourself room to play with the figures in the round. A. Graduated college players get paid the least because they have the fewest options. You have to be compared fairly with comperable players in the round. One scout wanted to use a pick from last years draft. That player was a grad from college. The player in question was a hs grad. The college grad was the smallest signing of the round. B. I want it to be vague. That allows...

Well first let me start off by saying during these economic times a lot of states educational systems are facing a budget issue. It's already happened. The college coaches are busy coaching in the spring. If they get to a high school game it's only going to be a local game that doesn't conflict with their job. There may only be one or two players worth seeing at the game. The coaches are at the showcases in the summer and the fall when coaches have far more time. They can see hundreds of kids. Any high school player who's not an absolute stud who's waiting to be seen at a high school game is going to have a long wait.

This is the reason my older son quit the game. He hated what adults did to it. You guys are right about a lot of things, and especially that I am more frustrated than my son. Unfortunately, I'm realizing that I used up all my patience when my older some played. I guess the only thing to do is be patient and keep a good attitude. Coach, With the hand you were dealt, you probably played it as well as possible. 15 players are tough to juggle at that age. Good advice for folks with players that age. If you do what is best for the team, without overpitching anyone, are successful, ....someone will still find something to complain about, unfortunatley. Quick story; Chet Lemon, an MLB All-Star, 17 year major leaguer, coaches at Eustis HS about 20 miles west of Orlando. His team won the 2003 Class 3A State Championship in...

From just the '84 Tigers team, Whitaker and Trammell are so much better than Morris that it's absurd how little recognition they've received. Evans and Lemon had better careers, if probably not HOF-worthy. Parrish and Gibson are closer on Morris' heels than he is on Evans' and Lemon's. All you need to know about Morris' HOF case relative to his offensive teammates is summed up by the fact that the '84 Tigers won 104 games with a rotation that was 4/5 composed of guys nobody outside of a...

There are 64 pitchers in the HOF who threw at least 1000 innings (includes Ruth, but used in order to exclude a bunch of early guys who weren't primarily pitchers). Morris would be solidly in the bottom quartile if elected. There are 18 2B (guys who played at least half their games at 2B). Whitaker would be easily in the top half if elected, probably right at top 1/3. There are 20 SS in the HOF, Trammell would be in the top half. There are 61 OF in the HOF, Lemon would be just below the half...

Injuries seem to be the first thing you look at when going out to the used lot and "kick tires".
