We can discuss academics all day long, but the thread is about baseball!
A lot of great public (baseball ) schools out there as well.
What you put into an education is what you get out of it. Just as you do athletics!
No need to apologize for discussing academics!
Their (Jesuit's) lineup is young but do have a few big bats in Shortall and Josh Bell.
Don't forget Tanner Kalina(SS)and Reid Plauche(CF). These kids have been riding under the radar but have some great talent.

I know DC lost alot but they do have 2 good pitchers returning in Brooks and Taylor. I was also wondering about Grapevine Faith Christian. I know they were successful last year, but was wondering who they have returning?

I don't know much about GFC but Pierce Shivers will be a senior there. Great player and good young man.
How has that new school John Paul II looked? I think the are in that district w/ BL and TCA.
Quick DC update, since there's been a couple of posts/questions...
Junior lefty Blaine Taylor is out for the season, a Tommy John-surgery victim, suffered on his 11th pitch during a Fall game a couple weeks ago (Dallas Patriots). Huge loss for us, as he is our only lefty pitcher and otherwise starting 1B. Long rehab ahead and hopefully to be ready for a strong senior season in 2010.
Also returning a couple of soph starters. Junior Timothy Morris, a hard-hitting soph starter a year ago (.360, 2nd team all-dist player in '08), and another young man I won't mention by name (whom I'm quite familiar , '08's starting catcher as a soph and now projected #2 rotation pitcher. Sorry for that shameless plug.
Anyway, we may be down a bit this season, although we do have senior Corey Brooks as our "horse." I'm sure FBA's the favorite, which I fully support.

Does anybody know where we can find the High School Baseball Fall schedule of teams, times and places in the DFW area????

They were very competitive in 2008 but lost a few close district games to miss the playoffs. I expect them to be in the mix in 2009.
This year they lost a key player, Benjamin Taylor, when he returned to his area public school (Plano Senior HS) for his senior year. Plano Senior will definitely be a district team to watch this year...they will be very competitive.

Is he a returning starter? At my sons's school last year we had a two year starting catcher and his senior leadership was the most noticable.
new aroundhere - yes, he is a returning starter, he will be a key team leader this year
Enough about these little private schools...how 'bout we start a public school/player thread.
JPII is going to surprise some people this year

I don't think it will be a surprise to see them do well in 2009, they have a good program with talented players.
I agree with Cheapseats I dont think they will suprise anyone. I think they are a good program and the other teams know that. I hope JPII plays well. They have talent, but losing Taylor hurts. The more teams that are competing for the district crown in Tapps 1-5A the better it is for the players to play good teams and the fans to watch good baseball.
