I will "predict" that South Carolina 3-peats. Experience is a big help on a stage like this.

I will root for the two Pac-12 teams plus Stony Brook and Kent State. I think both Pac-12 teams have a legitimate shot. UCLA was the best team I saw in person this year.

Good stuff. I think all 8 teams have a legitimate shot but there is something about South Carolina. They have a closer with a rubber arm who shortens the game to 6 or 7 innings. They also have a fantastic clutch hitter at 1b and they may be the most disciplined team. That said, any of these 8 teams have a shot.

OK, I'll be the sentimental one. Kent state and Stony Brook in the finals with Stony Brook winning the decisive game three by one run in the 11th inning.

While I cheered for Kent State and Stony Brook to win their super regionals I'll guess the clock is about to strike twelve against them. If they lose their first games they may go into "happy to be here" mode and gone in two.

Will root for Stony Brook because I like underdogs but would be nice to see Mike Martin to get his first championship . 16th try is the charm .

I can't really disagree with your opinion that they're unlikely to achieve the College World series championship, but I did not see any doubt, hesitation, backing down, or 'deer in the headlights' look on either team.

I truly believe they have the 'right stuff' to get the job done. If they are not champs it certainly will not be from lack of effort or confidence. And if they do indeed both end up in the championship series I will definitely be breaking out my finest bottle of tree sap!

Scott Stricklin is one of the best coaches in America. They will compete no matter the situation.

StonyBrook didn't look like underdogs to me. They are very dangerous.

Since I pay South Carolina a heft sum for my daughters tuition I'm pulling for SC (and I'm a fan) however as a former NE Ohio resident, my heart wouldn't mind seeing a Golden FLASH.

I would like to see a PAC 12 team win.But if not I want somebody besides SC winning just because it will make it more fun to watch for me.

This will be my first trip to the CWS. Other than the baseball, what should I see/do out there? What good food should I try?

For authentic Italian try Amato's....never had a bad meal there.

If I remember correctly from last year you will be urged to pay homage to this well known eatery. If you want to get the Runzas® this is the place to go!

And for fast food generally try chasing down a Culver's®. They offer a wide variety of reasonably priced good food. Don't miss their frozen custard.

If you're with a travel team in Omaha for one of the tournaments I would highly recommend Hy-Vee® which is a supermarket and most have an expansive buffet with a wide range of food which will satisfy all of the different tastes of players and parents. Again, reasonably priced. They're air conditioned and can handle a big crowd easily and quickly.

And of course there's more good steak joints than there are Walgreen's® and Starbuck's® combined. That's a lot!

For other entertainment aside from baseball? Try the Strategic Air Command Museum south of town on the highway to Lincoln. Very worthwhile.

And then west of town is the Boy's Town Tour & Hall of History Museum. Father Flanagan put a great place together out there.

Redbird: Do the Zoo if you have time or kids with you. Great shark, penguins and ape displays.
I haven't been to the new park and at the old park I always just lived off Brats and Burgers that were available from tents and vendors near the ballpark... (or LSU fans, who, if you say hi to them they feed you!!!)
A friend of mine told me that downtown, just south of the stadium, will be the best places with the best deals. Of course Omaha is reknown for its steaks.

Runza's are great...gotta try one before you leave. For the best steak, head to Omaha Prime in the Old Market area of downtown...a short walk from the ballpark. Expensive...but can't be beat! I agree with Woody on Boystown...a nice visit. And like Trojan Skip said, the Zoo is a good bet...especially on a hot day.

Oh yes, the zoo! I've never been, but my wife says it's one of the best she's ever been to.

And the mention of runza smoked ol' Tx out! I guess you gotta' try one of those cabbage things?

I don't know just...Nicola's features 'Whoopie' pies. They'd have to do a lot of talkin' before I'd order a slice of that!

And Tx...if I ever get back to Omaha I'll eat three! In Memphis they load up their pulled pork sammiches with slaw...and they're good. The idea of stuffing cabbage in some sort of pastry creation along with some tasty beef shouldn't chase me away should it? Honestly...I like cabbage. As a food and strategically if you know what I mean. Gotta' hand it to those cruciferous veggies...they can really get ya' goin'!

I am going with the school down the road a mile! Stony Brook! -and they also had seven players selected in this year's draft! They do not consider themselves Cinderella at this big dance and I hope they continue the swagger and do well!

I am a west coast guy, so I am pulling for Arizona and UCLA but I always like the underdogs too. Kent State and Stony Brook are great stories and I would not mind seeing an upset. A can't loose situation - should be some great games...

I was there in 2010 when SC won their first. Loved it when they repeated. Being from the north, I would love it if Kent St. and SB were to make some noise.

Starsky's was a cool place to hang out.

Arizona's starting pitching is making them look like world-beaters so far.

Boy, I certainly could be proven wrong, but it sure looks like the 2 best teams have risen to the top.

I am really admiring how hard South Carolina and Arizona play the game. Not taking anything away from any other team...these two teams just 'feel' to me like they 'know' they're gonna win.

Omaha is such a great place. The town really embraces this event. If you're looking for a tremendous steak, head out to The Drover on 73rd St. and order the famous whiskey filet. If you want a feel of Omaha, hit the Old Market, which is the bustling downtown restaurant/shopping district just blocks up 10th Street from the new ballpark. There's also a wonderful museum in the old train station downtown. New places also are going up all around TD Ameritrade. Visited Rosenblatt the other day -- it gets torn down next month -- for one last look of the place. It's so classic, even in its rundown condition, but nothing lasts forever, I guess.

I've been here since last week and hated to see Stony Brook get knocked out so quickly. The locals were ready to get behind the Seawolves, but they never got untracked. I'd tell any college baseball fan to make at least one pilgrimage here in their lifetime.

Stony Brook picked a bad time to roll up two bad games and that is what is the worst part. They didnt play up to their capabilities. But, We are proud of the local boys and now a lot more folks are asking "WHAT's A SEAWOLF?!"

Great year,Great Run... and it resets the bar for future recruits as they now can be told if you play here YOU CAN get to Omaha!

Unbelievable finish. Kent State could not throw a strike, loads the bases, and wiggles out of it.

Florida looked indifferent this game. Looked to me like they didn't give Kent State enough respect until it was too late.
