Are you still doing the announcing at McKinney games?
Hope Miss Sandy and the rest of the family are doing well.
Not classless that was just the facts, I remember being there too with Forney; final four in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2004 and the regional semis in 2008. We all have glory days but let's just play em out as they happen. Good luck to all.
I told you I would come back and eat some crow if I was wrong and was I ever wrong. I watched a Poteet team that didn't even come close to playing their best game, but they still dominated what is suppose to be their biggest challenger in the district. As far as the noise in the stands goes. I think it was great. You had a playoff atmosphere with students making as much noise as they could to help their team win. If you don't like that it can only mean that you've never gone very far in post season play. The lack of class last night was all on Red Oak. Throwing at hitters because you can't keep them off base. Flipping players off because you can't hit the other team's pitcher. You have to lose with class as much as you have to win with class. If you can't beat them, you can't beat them. Just give them their due. The player with the most class was the pitcher from Poteet. He had every right in the world to put one in #21's ear hole and all he did was graze him with a pitch. That kid should be thankful that the Poteet pitcher had far more class than he did. Looks like tomorrow night is for second and third. Where is the game being played?

Heck no, I was asked to never come back.
The family is wanderful. Thanks.

Now thats funny right there.

Can you please come up with a new word. We have been hearing that for years now from better people than yall. Don't they teach you Jackwabbits the three R's out there in the Wabbitville. You know Readin, Ritin, and Rithmatick. Come up with something more orginial.

That was awesome back in the 3A days. Oh yeah, thats back when the furniture guy used to move kids up here from East Texas. They had some awesome teams. Don't remember seeing you at the playoff games in Forney. La Grange was pretty good weren't they. But your right let's play em out as they happen.
Yes, La Grange was good at least Homer Bailey was. Those were good days when a 3A was beating 4A & 5A teams. Let's play ball
I think last night just proved that Poteet is a very good team. I've been to all R.O's game this year and have never seen any of the team act the way they did last night. I think the way the acted last night was brought out by the intensity from Poteet. I think the only unclassy thing I saw from Poteet in the game was when the 2nd baseman geared up and threw the ball at Alsup when he was about 15 feet away. Other than that, I will admit that Red Oak didn't show just a whole lot of class. If R.O. plans on going into they playoffs they can't let that atmosphere bother them. I heard many of them talking after the game about how they actually like the crowd noise, but many were too worried about not striking out. Here's Blunt's credit where it's do, excellent game young man!...Fletcher didn't throw because he had been out of town and wasn't in pitching shape. Wallis or the sophmore right fielder were the only two options I would imagine.
Hardnosed...while I agree that wasn't a classy move, it also wasn't very classy of the RO players to be hurling the ball into Poteet's dugout multiple times during their warm-ups between innings. They were warned not to throw the ball at the players in the dugout. Guess they didn't listen.
What caused the Red Oak players to behave the way they did? Did they enter the game with a "chip on their shoulders" or did they gradually act that way? What player "flipped off" the Poteet players and did the umpires do anything about it?
As much as it probably looked intentional, the R.O. 2nd basemen has been pulled about 4 times this year for making bad throws into the dugout during warmups. So, I can honestly say I doubt there was any intention to it.
Hardnosed...I guess it looked intentional to the Poteet dugout when the 1st baseman didn't even attempt to catch the ball. I think if you're tallying up the intentional shots taken at players, RO would win hands down. But what's done is done and that game is over. There is still a 2nd half of the season and Poteet plays all but one of those games on the road. We'll see how it turns out.

I like the way you think. You didn't use not even one excuse about the game last night. If you get beat you get beat. Tip your hat and maybe you get to play them again. Good luck tomorrow night.I know Coach Autrey will have them ready to get after it. I look forward to seeing this game in person.

Jewels- Like I said, Red Oak didn't show much class.
Beast- Thanks, maybe our guys will decideto show up to play this game.

Can I expect to see a good game tonight between Heath and HP? I'm not connected with this district but anxious to see these guys play. Who is pitching? Does HP have a shot?
Just guessing, but I would say Thompson vs. Scudder. I think HP has a shot at beating them in this 10-4A match up. Wish I could be in two places at once, but I can't miss the Forney vs. Red Oak match up.
Hey Beast, go see Heath and HP, the Forney vs. Red Oak has been moved to Friday night
Yeah right. And I heard it is being played at Poteet because of the rain.
Is the Heath/HP game at HP?

Yes
Ok Beast go to Red Oak and miss both games, just like a Poteet person a non trusting know it all.
OK I believe you. I think I will just stay home and mow the yard, grill a few rabbits and have a few Lone Stars. Now I can come out to Jackwabbitt land on Friday night instead of going to play bingo.
Hey why you always calling me names. That hurts my feelings. I don't call you names.

Oh wait you said it is in Red Oak tomorrow night. I don't think I can make it out there. I think Ill just go play Bingo.
Beast, The Red Oak game was moved because of the missed school days!
Who is throwing for each team? That is, if the weather cooperates. I know Jeffrey pitched Tuesday so I would suspect Blackmon for Forney. Probably Fletcher for Red Oak. This could be a real good game. Wish I could make it.
Forney and Red Oak should look on the bright side- there is always next year and so on. The Poteet underclassmen are not like Heath's the talent-depth pool is possibly getting more shallow in mesquite. Everyone is moving east down I80 and I30.
Forney is going down Tuesday.
you can count on us to bring the house

Hold on there new member. Chill out. Baseball can be a very cruel game. Lets play it first before you start talking.
haha, i'm not a player, just a student and fan. and we already have played it once; we 5-0'd Forney with a perfect game from Blunt. i'm hoping to see a similar performance next Tuesday!

Forney can be a hard place to play and they will be well prepared and ready, especially if they can knock Red Oak off. I agree with Beast. Let's play it on the field and see what happens. Remember, we will be playing on a different surface.
yeah, some of the guys did tell me that they were about as loud as we are at home.. but we'll be there, and as loud as possible, to make it feel less like an away game!
They are loud for sure. We need all the support we can get and make it as loud as you can. You just have to watch out for this one administrator. She is always having the Forney cops kick out any fans that say anything bad about Forney.
I actually saw her kick out a Forney dad for inviting an opposing Mom (kicked out also) into the parking lot two years ago when my older son was a senior. Don't remember for sure who we were playing. I have to admit, both were yelling (Forney dad was sitting right behind me) quite loudly and they were quite rude. Thank goodness neither used obscenities in their yelling.
How is the weather looking for the Forney and Red Oak matchup tonight? Doesn't look good on the NOAA weather site. Hope they can get the game played without the weather having adverse affects (effects?) on the game.
JRD
The weather is not looking good for baseball today. But i'm in north Plano. Don't know what it looks like in Red Oak.
I bet it was those Pirates. We have the only fans that would do a thing like that.

One line has already moved through Mesquite, but didn't drop a lot of rain. Another line will be moving through about 1pm. That one looks bad.
I'm sure she will be in full "get em out of here" mode Tuesday night

If I recall correctly it was a playoff game against McKinney in '08 when she "tossed" them. I remember where I was sitting and that's the only game that I have been in that seat ever at Forney. I was actually video taping that game and I believe that I, more than likely, picked up the ugly verbal exchange on tape. I'll have to find the tape and see. She definitely patrols the area.
I don't guess I have ever seen her. She doesn't make it out to where I stand.
One of the many reasons I stand where I do. She would boot me before the first inning was over for sure. She is probably about 60 and stands right there at the ramp watching and listening. Will be fun Tuesday, but I think I will have my usual perch down the left field line. After 4 yrs why ruin a good thing.
