For some reason, I don't think the Rangers will come out flat. They've been hitting well and scored those two runs after the first tie. If Ogundo and Feliz have been shaken up from tonight's game, that's another story.

What this game does remind me is how good Mariano Rivera has been all these years. Getting that last out not so easy.

Random thoughts...

5 errors, and a walk to bring in a tie run. That's a bad high school play off game, must less Game 6 of the World Series.

The Cards are making the most of the NL All Star win, as Washington appears to be struggling with managing an NL style game.

Kudos to the Cards for hanging in there and not giving up.

As an Astros fan, I'm glad to see Berkman doing well.

I'll be tuned in tonight!
That's the way baseball go!

An EPIC series, with great stories for the cardiac Cards, AP, Craig, Berk, Freese, Naps, Nellie, Holland, Hamilton, Beltre, etc etc etc ... I guess you could name everyone from both teams, including TLR and Wash.

Whether you like it, or don't like it, sit down and look at it 'cause it's the best thing going today! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Bet they wish they had that run right now

I thought the same thing when it happend. I didn't see a replay though to see how far the runner was down the line. My first thought was they could of had him out at home without much trouble or risk.

And that doesn't include the untimely walks, Andrus going to 1st instead of 2nd, the sloppy plays that WERE made (like the Cards pitcher slipping fielding the dribbler and then Pujols catching the toss high on the palm), missed cutoffs, overall drop in pitching sharpness, and IMO, the killer - Cruz played that line drive terribly. He took a slow, lazy route and it looked like he was still back far enough on the leap but just wiffed badly because of the route.

These are the Pros, even this year's best of the MLB teams. These are the same two teams that have played so well the last few months to get here, the same two teams that have played so sharply (for the most part) the first several games of the series. It continues to amaze me how, in baseball, things have a way of snowballing like this in a single game, even at this level.

All this, combined with the back-and-forth lead and all the other drama, it still made for a GREAT ballgame to watch from an entertainment standpoint. Maybe one of the greatest.

There isn't a greater story than a hometown kid hitting a walk off World Series homer. I'll bet every male on this board had that dream at some point in their baseball life.
I agree with twotex, this was a horribly played game, with five physical errors, plenty of mental errors, and walks in inopportune times. However, even with the sloppy play, it was arguably the most exciting World Series game of all time!

As GED10 stated, there are numerous stories in this series that are hard to beat. Freese, Craig, Pujols, Berkman, Napoli, Cruz, as he said...you can name the entire rosters, not to mention the excitement of watching Wash in the dugout!

My daughter works at a local pizza parlor in our city. The family of Allen Craig comes into the parlor to watch the games. You can imagine how exciting this series has been for them...according to my daughter, our city was St Louis WEST last night! Anyway, Allen's cousins and younger sister bought plane tickets to fly out to watch game seven at midnight after that exciting game last night (Allen's parents were already in attendance). They landed a couple hours ago, and have sent Facebook messages out stating that St Louis is going Cardinals Crazy...gotta love it! Holliday will miss game seven with an injury, so Allen will be in LF tonight, and I'll be rooting for number 21. My son grew up playing baseball with his cousin, and I've coached Allen's sister in basketball for a couple years so I'm sharing in this excitement. Go Cards! On a side note...they'll be facing the young lefty that Coach May tutored as a youngster...you can't make this up, great stuff!
