The sloppy game just goes to show you how fast the game moves at the ML level.
Baseball at any level is not about perfection, the faster the game the faster the errors occur.

7 games of the WS is great for baseball.

I had people that know son plays for the cardinals with no interest in baseball asking me all kinds of questions today.
Tough call to walk Frees to load 'em for Molina. I know Frees had the hot hand but Molina is still hitting over .300 for the series. Sometimes I think even the big league Mgrs underestimate what an advantage the hitter has when there's nowhere to put them. If you pitch to a guy with 1b open, hitter won't know if he's being pitched to or around. With the bags loaded, the hitter knows the pitcher has to come into the zone.
I know there's a lot more to it with matchups, etc. and they have way more knowledge, experience and info at their fingertips. Just sayin'.
It's gonna be a shame that the game was put out of reach with a bases loaded walk and HBP after such a great series. Hope I'm wrong and something else happens.

What a great series.

So who's the MVP?

Freese?
Berkman?
Carpenter?

Carp is the man. 3 starts in one series and one on 3 days rest, unreal.

TPM, I respect you, and I agree that Carp came up big, however, Freese definitely deserved the MVP in this one...no doubt about it! ...and I am a big AC Fan!

Feliz looked like he was losing his composure starting wih the second pitch to the second hitter.
I couldn't find a patting myself on the back for my prediction emoticon.

When the Cards came back in the bottom of the first the Rangers had to be thinking, "We can't hold a lead on this team!" It was over.

No doubt Freese deserved to be MVP, but Carp is still the man. Smile

Not half the fun of keeping down that perfect pie and groovin' on the tunes from this band...

You just can't top this!

Woody...I was eating pizza and drinking cervezas with Allen's uncle tonight, believe me, it was a fun night...couldn't beat it!
Loved watching the post game - showed the class the Cards have in their organization. Gotta like the local kid winning MVP, and a "minimum" wage guy at that.

I enjoyed Tony L. giving credit to Molina for the decision to keep Carpenter in as long as they did. Molina was great to watch the whole way through. Actually both catchers in the series were great to watch. Gutsy, skilled competitors.

This was a very enjoyable post-season. And being an Astros fan it was stress free for me.

My "smart" side says Rangers in six. But that almost always fails me. Maybe I'm not as intellectual as I would like to think.

The "hunch" side says the Cardinals are the hot team with the momentum and to bet them to stay hot!

Either way; I'm hoping for seven and then a walk-off bomb in the bottom of the ninth!

The "hot" team road their early September momentum all the way to the World Championship! That sure happens often, Giants last year, doesn't it.

I'm sure TV ratings were down because there were no East Coast teams involved, but certainly it was one of the more enjoyable Series ever to watch. I was listening to game six on Satellite radio on the way back from PrimeJr's fall scrimmages and I have never been more caught up in listening to a game than that epic Game.

Is Pujols a below average, average or above average fielder at first base?

Pujols has one gold glove that he received in 2006. Ten years in the game, you draw your own conclusions and keep in mind that it is a very difficult position and Albert can play multiple.

He made some errors this post season, just goes to show you how fast the game is played when you get to this point.

I think that the calls were fair, when you are throwing that close to the corners. Couple of "no ways" for both pitchers.

The bottom line is that the Rangers pitching was meh. What a great team though, not a AL fan, I enjoyed watching them and I like "Was".

I am curious as to the numbers of the viewing audience, because I have never heard so many people talking about this series as I have in the past.
I can't help it.....but I kept thinking throughout the series about why the Cardinals (90-72) had home field advantage over the Rangers (96-66). While on the surface this looks trivial, it is in fact a huge thing. It all goes back the (exhibition) All-Star game that MLB uses to determine home field advantage. It is a crime, and it is wrong to have that exhibition game mean so much IMHO. They've got to stop that practice.

Congrats to the Cards and their fans for an inspiring and well deserved championship. They overcame alot.
