Bob,
I first saw Elvis play for the Frisco, TX Ranger's AA team several years back and you could tell he was ML bound even then.
I read an a couple of articles today lamenting the Cardinals' collapse in the ninth and how this game has transformed the entire series and given a huge edge to the Rangers.
Huh?
I saw an awesome nine-inning game that took one inning to win. It just happened to be the ninth. If it was 2-1 after the third inning would that have been a big collapse?
Heck no. 1-1 headed to TX. Can't wait for tomorrow.

The media's influence can't be discounted. For example, they were all over Pujols and his "early exit" from the locker room. So, Pujols tore in to them yesterday. He said that he waited 40 minutes for interviews and no one approached him. So, he left. Then, he was shocked that he was being ripped on for leaving early.

Really? SI reported he was in the clubhouse kitchen for 20 minutes and left because no one from the cardinals media staff asked him to come out. Reporters are not allowed in the kitchen, and his clothes were cleared from his locker when reporters were allowed in the locker room. That's not exactly "manning up" if you ask me. He dodged the media after the game and thought better of it the next day.

Can you say "Allen Craig" ??!?!?!?!?!
Can you say "Allen Craig again" ?!?!?!?!!?!?!?
Chalk that run up to the bone-headed 1st base umpire. That call was awful.
Terrible call. It set up the inning for them. And then that play really hurts.
Unbelievable that he missed that call! Did you see where he was positioned? How could he not see that? Led to four runs and likely a loss. Bad, bad call. One big inning wins, or loses, many a baseball game.
Hold on there Prime...we have a game
Wow, two quick bombs in the 4th and Texas right back in the game. This is going to be one heck of a series.
Sometimes those terrible calls against you gets the team all fired up!
What's up with that St. Louis coach wearing a Texas hat? Did anyone notice while they were interviewing Garcia?
That is certainly true TPM. But how do you explain what Nelson Cruz has been doing? Talk about getting hot; a home run in four straight home post season games....

Ever heard of an usher? Security? Event staff?
Guess not...
Anybody else notice an apparent large group of Cardinal fans in Texas? With Molina's hit scoring a couple runs, a large cheer went up..

When you're hot, you're hot, however, it's an easy park to hit one out.
Either way, it's been an interesting series so far!!
Cardinal pitchers need to figure out how to pitch with a lead!
Ugly defense and poor base running but this is a fun game to watch.
Don't want to rip on a cool guy but Freese doesn't look too good at third base.

I like Descalso better down there...

We'll you believe what you want to believe. He spoke to the media and called them out and I don't think he would have done that had it been proven that he did otherwise. with all of the scruitny that these players are under and with all of the cameras, that would be too easy to prove.
Well Albert sure showed them!
Pujols just hit that ball about 700 feet.
Well, Albert's what...3/4 now with a monster HR. Will he hang out in the kitchen tonight? Bet not..he'll hang out by his locker.
This game is basically a pitcher's nightmare....

Maybe he should go hang out in the kitchen again...

That was funny.
The thing with Albert is once he finds it he doesn't let go so fast....

I swear I posted the above BEFORE the homerun!
HR#2
I'll bet Albert talks to the media tonight!

That fan needs to be removed!
Jeffrey Mayer just threw a ball on the field.
Good, got rid of him. That's a risk and there is no need for something like that.

Plus the idiot threw it like a drunk girl!
No offense intended to drunks or girls.
Pujols is the man! He is in select company!

ok, fine...he's worth one billion dollars
Wow, congrats to Albert! Select company, indeed!
Congrats to the Cardinals!
Julie
Congrats to the Cardinals!

I really like AP, I just do, always have. But, Lynn is the reason the Cardinals win GM3... he allowed one run in 2 1/3 and the Cards outscore us 8-1 in the final 4 innings.
He gets out of a bases loaded jam in the 5th, then 3 up-3 down in the 6th..... Shutdown inning, game over!

Ok, so I want to get this off of my chest. Who do A.J. Pierzynski and Eric Karros think they are? Both took shots at Pujols during the pre and post games. Pierzynski, after last nights game and during the wrapup, commented that he "called out" Pujols. He took great pride in making that statement. What has Pierzynski done in his MLB career that would enable him to call out anyone? I understand that he has twice been an all-star. Still, his career numbers are not close to Pujols' numbers. I guess I understand why his coach once said, "If you play against A.J., you hate him. If you play with A.J., you just hate him less."
Eric Karros agreed with Pierzynski's statements and then too issue with the umpiring in the game. Granted the play with Holliday was obvious. Believe me, St. Louis fans know about blown calls. But the play at the plate? Did I miss a close up that showed the runner in all certainty safe? Believe me, if I were a Texas fan, then I think the runner is safe. However, I'm a Cardinal fan and so the runner was out. Conclusive video? The angle Karros used was far from a close up. Karros went on to say that due to the umpiring, Texas' chances have been seriouly jeapordized in winning the series. How could he come to that conclusion? I guess that the Cardinals get little respect from these two for any of their achievements last night.
McCarver, Buck, Piezynski, and Karros, not a winning lineup for Fox!
