I read an a couple of articles today lamenting the Cardinals' collapse in the ninth and how this game has transformed the entire series and given a huge edge to the Rangers.

Huh?

I saw an awesome nine-inning game that took one inning to win. It just happened to be the ninth. If it was 2-1 after the third inning would that have been a big collapse?

Heck no. 1-1 headed to TX. Can't wait for tomorrow.
The media's influence can't be discounted. For example, they were all over Pujols and his "early exit" from the locker room. So, Pujols tore in to them yesterday. He said that he waited 40 minutes for interviews and no one approached him. So, he left. Then, he was shocked that he was being ripped on for leaving early.

Really? SI reported he was in the clubhouse kitchen for 20 minutes and left because no one from the cardinals media staff asked him to come out. Reporters are not allowed in the kitchen, and his clothes were cleared from his locker when reporters were allowed in the locker room. That's not exactly "manning up" if you ask me. He dodged the media after the game and thought better of it the next day.

That is certainly true TPM. But how do you explain what Nelson Cruz has been doing? Talk about getting hot; a home run in four straight home post season games....

When you're hot, you're hot, however, it's an easy park to hit one out.

Either way, it's been an interesting series so far!!

We'll you believe what you want to believe. He spoke to the media and called them out and I don't think he would have done that had it been proven that he did otherwise. with all of the scruitny that these players are under and with all of the cameras, that would be too easy to prove.
Ok, so I want to get this off of my chest. Who do A.J. Pierzynski and Eric Karros think they are? Both took shots at Pujols during the pre and post games. Pierzynski, after last nights game and during the wrapup, commented that he "called out" Pujols. He took great pride in making that statement. What has Pierzynski done in his MLB career that would enable him to call out anyone? I understand that he has twice been an all-star. Still, his career numbers are not close to Pujols' numbers. I guess I understand why his coach once said, "If you play against A.J., you hate him. If you play with A.J., you just hate him less."

Eric Karros agreed with Pierzynski's statements and then too issue with the umpiring in the game. Granted the play with Holliday was obvious. Believe me, St. Louis fans know about blown calls. But the play at the plate? Did I miss a close up that showed the runner in all certainty safe? Believe me, if I were a Texas fan, then I think the runner is safe. However, I'm a Cardinal fan and so the runner was out. Conclusive video? The angle Karros used was far from a close up. Karros went on to say that due to the umpiring, Texas' chances have been seriouly jeapordized in winning the series. How could he come to that conclusion? I guess that the Cardinals get little respect from these two for any of their achievements last night.

McCarver, Buck, Piezynski, and Karros, not a winning lineup for Fox!
