My son as a freshman, made varsity as a pitcher, JV as a position player.
We had an intra-squad scrimmage on Friday night. He pitched to varsity batters. Each pitcher faced 5 batters. He gave up one double, struck out four.

Fastball cruising 81-82 with a 6"-8" tail. His ball was moving really well. Changeup 71-72, Slider 67-68. His control is pretty good. Keeps the ball low and can move it in and out. The one hit was on a change up that he left up a little. He said he hadn't gone over the signs with the catcher before he pitched and didn't realize what he was supposed to throw until he started his windup and had to change his grip in the middle of it.
Keep in mind that it is early and this was the first time the batters had faced live pitching this year. It was still nice to watch.
My son's "optional" workout was outside today in PA.quote:Originally posted by Hawk19:
