Brother Rice edges out Notre Dame 3-2
Nick Pieruccini notched his 1st home-run of the season to lead off the 2nd inning, and give Notre Dame (7-8) a 1-0 lead.
The Dons used 6 different pitchers to hold the BR offense in check, but a 2-out, 2-run home run by Wendall Ferguson in the 4th proved to be the difference in this non-conference matchup.
Matt Walsh, Kevin Stahmer, Kennan Connelly, and Ryan Czachor all recorded scoreless innnings in their first respective innings on the mound this season. As a staff the ND pitchers allowed only 5 hits, 1 walk, and hit 2 batters.

Both runners advanced on a double-steal putting the tying run a second base. Jake Kolakowski had a great pitching effort going 7 innings leaving the game tied 3-3. The Raiders had a little defensive let down in the ninth inning and were losing 6-3. The Raiders got two walks in the ninth and my son came up and tied the game with a 3 run homerun.
The Raiders got the win on a failed squeeze play. Oswego East's 3rd baseman dropped the ball and the runner scored on the error.

Monday night at the Schaumburg freshman softball game one of the coaches has a heart attack on the field. A parent, Joe Boshold and the athletic trainer Kandy Keller went to work and there combination of cpr and an automatic external defibrillator saved the coaches life. Wow nice save!
