Yes there was one run scored by Central that came from a runner on second scoring on two consecutive balk calls. It was not the last run, but in a one run game, every run counts. I was at the game, but was not watching the pitcher close enough when the balks were called, so I cannot comment on the calls.

gotwood--it was evev better then i described, I cant say enough how classy Moline was. They were 1 strike from advancing tough tough tough. Tommorow will be exciting

Central's path to the super sectional just got easier with Neaqua Valley geting upset tonight.

Minooka 9 Ofallon 0--WP Kevin Ruff throws PERFECT GAME . Minookas defense made some great plays to back up there boy on the bump--Minooks 17 hits overall the Minooka boys have been on a mission--Supersectional monday vs Naperville Central should be another great game--May see you there mauiman one of us gets to state hope for another great game. Agian Ofallon a class act--several parents congradualted Minookas pitcher after game in stands--thats baseball great season for Ofallon 30+ wins. GO INDIANS!!

Nah, I can't justify the trip down there when I don't have a kid on the team anymore, but I think my son, who graduated last year, may go.

Jared Helmich throws a complete game 2 hitter for the win on 2 days rest.

He also threw a complete game on Saturday against Crystal lake south.

I guess we can hope Grant has at least one more pitcher for this weekend.

. wow ive never heard of a pitcher throwing on 1 day rest--wonder what his pitch count was? That cant be good . I would never allow my son to do that---anyone know more details? Doesn't show much confidence in other pitchers.

119 pitches in the second game, the first game I think was 118.

While I am not necessarily a fan of hard and fast pitch counts.......these numbers are absolutely unacceptable.

Where is the coach's morals?

where are the parents?

It just isn't worth the health and future of a young man. No game is.

I was at the South game and that kid is a heck of a ball player. With that kind of abuse hes not going to enjoy his future!!

Next games are friday and sat--think he will pitch both? Holy smokes 235 pitches in 3 days---cant be good, does anyone think this is no big deal?

I have been saying that for years, best conference in the state. No transfers, No trying to load up one team, just kids and coaches working hard at a goal!!!

Nazareth takes 3rd in 3a with a nice outing by purpura

Minooka will play for 3rd . Lyons takes advantage of Minookas miscues to score 5 unearned runs in 6-2 win. LP-Jimenz. Lyons gets key hit in 3rd inning with 2 out 2 on (i beilve an e and a walk or hbp) #9 hitter for Lyons singles scoring 2 to make it 4-1. Several(3) of Lyons hits were choppers bouncing high off turf ---ball just bounced Lyons way---But not to take away from them they got key hits, played a fairly clean defensive game and pitcher pitched a great game--classy team and coaches Congradulations to them and good luck in finals. Minooka to play Grant in 3rd place game--Go Indians!

Heck of an accomplishment BBall Dad!

Thanks ballyball the kids made a magical run, 4th in state is a great accomplishment. Minooka 1 Grant 7------ball didnt bounce our way all weekend. My son pitched agianst Grant and had a no hitter going into the 4th-- 6 groundballs with eyes, 1 quibbler in between 3rd and pitcher and a popup dinker just over 1st and Grant has 6 runs---iam proud of my son he induced ground balls---ump was calling nothing low or low corners--so he threw to contact--groumd balls--usally at least one would be hit to someone--thats baseball--tough. We hit the ball very hard, our catcher missed a 2-run homer and a 3-run homer by 2 feet. Congrats to Grant beat us fair and square Ive enjoyed this season so much---The Boys won the WJOL invite with Providence, Joliet Catholic, Lockport, plainfield Central, Joliet West--all 20 win teams--Won Regionals, Sectionals,Supersectional, 4th in State-- And my son pitched a Perfect Game in Sectional Championship, Thanks to all who read my post hope I never came across badly

Baseball dad 46, congrats to you, your son and the rest of his team sounds like it was a great season!

Don't worry 46...all of your bad episodes and I never managed to get any of them on videotape. Especially that incident at the DQ® in Morris. I've never seen a waffle cone shaped trash container come to life like that ever! Any way...lucky you my battery was always dead!

Seriously...congratulations to your son and his team on their great season. And thanks for sharing it with us!
