Got a 10 inning scrimmage in last night between a few rain drops...It was good to see some baseball and friends...Ended up with mixed results...I think our team was up 4-1 after 7, but lost 10-6 after 10...tonight's scrimmage was canceled as we got lots of rain overnight...

Tomorrow is youngest's first JV Lacrosse game...looking forward to that too!
I know this is very small in the grand scheme of things, but I hope others will understand.

2013 made varsity two weeks ago and was delighted and proud that his months of off-season work were being rewarded.

First games are this weekend and he suffered a sprained wrist that is just severe enough that it's not worth risking something worse, especially in the beginning of the season for a warm-up game.

Although he completely understands he is, of course, devastated. He was to be the starting pitcher.

Just needed to share because I know we've all been there. Thank God it isn't something serious . . . just a very emotional time. He'll travel with the team and do whatever he can to help as he is doing in practice. Hopefully he'll get his turn next week.

Thanks for listening . . . just needed to tell others who feel a parent's pain for their kid since we're putting on the brave face for him.
2013 Parent,
You have no idea how many of us really do feel your pain.
Hang in there, this is part of the game as your son grows and matures, just when things are looking good, things can fall apart.
Always keep in mind that this is still "just a game", and this is really just a little bump in the road.

I'm sure he'll be a great cheerleader for his teammates this weekend. Adversity builds character.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I hope so, too. Smile I hope your son's team has the same success! We'll hit some pretty tough competition once we get out of our district, so it'll be good to just go deep into regionals. Still, it's been a fun season - and only nine regular season games left!

Good to see some of our posters in the frozen north finally getting started!
Thanks for asking 2BMom. He's doing pretty well on the mound. He is 3-0 with one save. 25 innings, 12 hits, 33 K's to 8 BB's, ERA 1.68. His last two starts have been complete games. He's feeling pretty good.

Our region play starts next Thursday. Team is 8-2 right now. Bats have been strong. So far, so good. I really don't want to jinx anything, so I'll leave it at that.

Keep up the good work with Josh. It's exciting that he is having such a great year as a senior.

'm sure bballson is mowing them down! How has his week been? And what about your sons, Laura?

Thanks for asking 2BMom. 2011 is off to a good start going 4-0 in relief and closing and a .93 ERA. He is very happy with his start and hoping to make a college decision in the next two weeks. He has worked very hard and is a great teammate and mentor to the younger boys on the team. 2014 continues to do well on JV. He is hitting extremely well but had a good dose of reality tonight going 0-3 after a 9 game streak. All in all we are happy to just be playing baseball.
Sorry to hear about your son, 2013. It's tough to miss the beginning of the season, but he'll be ready when they need him once they get going. Good Luck to him.

Great job by all the pitchers, and congrats on all the wins...nice to be playing already!

Well, first official tryouts today here. 1B has already beened named V Tri-Captain, (2nd year,he was named as a JR as well) Big Grin woohoo...I believe I am more excited than him. Along with another SR and a JR.

Looking forward to our first scrimmage Fri. and the weatherma was calling for snow this morning, but haven't seen it yet, and hope it stays away!
bsblson’s team has begun the HS season with a 4-2 record. Both losses were to highly ranked teams, and my son took the “L” in each game. He’s currently 1-2 thus far on the hill, but has pitched much better than his record reflects. He’s committed to a very good college, so I’ve told him that the other high schools are going to go after him with a little more vigor. I was proud of how he handled himself during his last game. He was getting pinched a little, but never complained once; he took the next sign from his catcher and went about his business. He’s swinging the bat well too, but again his BA isn’t reflected, as he’s been hitting the ball hard at people...Four of his five hits have been for extra bases. He's competing every pitch offensively and defensively, I'm proud of him. I’m just hoping for some good HSBaseballweb Karma for him and his team the remainder of the season! Wink

“He took some lumps when he was younger, but he has really blossomed from hard work, time and effort,” Simmons said. “He works really hard at what he loves.”

I like that, too. Smile Coach Simmons is the best.

I like that too, bsbl247.

RedSoxFan21, think about it this way. Our senior night is April 14, so we're almost done! And you'll just be getting going. Then I'll be jealous. Smile

Way to go Strike 3 son!

Mom of 1B, I don't know how y'all do it! 85 in G'ville today. It's snowing pollen.

Here's how to upload a photo:
The photo needs to on some public sharing site like Photobucket, or even Facebook works. Shutterfly and Walgreens photo sites work as well. All you need is the image URL.

From Photobucket, I think all the links you need are listed below each photo, or you can right click. Copy the image location, rather than the link location. Then click on the image tab above (along the green top border in the message posting frame), and paste in the image URL. Voila.

From FB, go to the album where the photo is that you want to share. Right click on the photo, then select Open link in new window. Once the new window opens, right click on the photo and choose "Copy Image Location." Then paste it into the image URL. That should do it.
