Hey COLOkid.....it was a good game. Although, If I were the parent of the soph pitcher I would have been livid!! To let a kid that young, throw that many pitches, so early in the year, on such a cold day....wow! I'm sorry to say it but your coach oughta be tarred and feathered and run out of the game! That kid has one helluva a future ahead of him, but he won't if he's ruined his pitching arm before he ever gets out of high school! What position did you play?
Krak, he isn't telling you how good his son really is on the field. Lucas throws 93-95 at times and is starting rumblings about being a top round pick in 2012 draft. Lucas pitched against my sons team and was real effective the last 2 years. His father knows how good of a team we were, but for those on this site I will give an idea of talent he faced. In the last 2 years we have sent/sending 9 players to D1. Lucas is the real deal and will be fine, if not overused at this level. He is almost a shoe-in today at area code final tryouts in santa barbara. I will get to see him for 1 more year before I move on to college ball. Good luck Aldonia and be humble. Enjoy the ride and hold on to the rains, because you are going to told all kinds of promises when it comes to Lucas. Good luck.
We had two Austins on the team: one, an outfielder, on his way to Stanford and one, a left-handed pitcher, who just transferred to Oaks-Christian. If you are speaking of Austin Wilson....well, he was a beast of a player. I believe he had a 99mph exit velocity on his throws from the outfield. I personally, have never seen another high-school player like him in terms of physicality. I know they exist, but I think they're few and far between. Austin Wilson is as close to a true 5-tool player as you will ever see. Even his swings and misses illicited ooh's and ahh's from the crowd. We'll miss him at HW but will be watching him dominate the Pac-10 in the future.

David may not be the most gifted athlete, but he loves the game, respects the game, plays the game the right way, and gives his all to his team(s). In the words of one of his long-time Coaches -- "He may not be flashy in how he gets it done ... all he does is win."

Krak & Coach -- Thank You! Must give credit for the great photo to the folks at AB Digital Photography who snapped some excellent shots of SP_Son down in Jupiter.

This shot was taken during his 3 inning stint where he held the very talented and powerful Canes hitless, earning a Save in a 2-1 win for Coach Merc and the NE PG Purple in Game 1 of this year's tournament. THAT was a special day.

As to the future ... he's chasing some pretty big dreams. Can't wait to see just how far he can go. Our best wishes to you and your young men.
Great shot!

from one Southpaw dad to another- enjoy the process and have fun with all of it!

Some of my best baseball memories now, are the visits to the various schools and the baseball talks during car rides and at hotels. Son and I had a lot of fun on those trips! Watching football and talking baseball at several locales!

Best Wishes!
K Complex -- Thank You. If memory serves, your southpaw is in PA now. I hope he is enjoying college, and the collegiate baseball experience.

I'm with you on the memories. Our baseball travels have been amazing, and I find myslef now trying to slow them down just a little to be sure to savor the memories. All the best to you and your son.
Update. Smile

PUD, just upload your image to Photobucket or a similar site. Then once it's uploaded, right click on the photo and click on "copy image location."

Then on your post, click on the picture icon (third from the right) and paste the image location. Same thing works if the photo is on your Facebook account.

Hey GED,

I believe your son was on the roster for a Lubbock, Texas team that was out in Arizona for the Fall Nationals? My son's team played you guys on Saturday night, and he threw four innings against your son's team. Ironically, the following day he played versus Ryanrod's team too, small world!

I agree with 2Bmom, GED Jr. is a Big Un...very strong looking young man!

Yes, GUN played with ABA-Team Texas, the AZ Sr Fall Classic was legit. We've been east and southeast many times, but only west for a 10 day trip hosted by the Arizona Clash in 2008.

You guys played very well, your pitchers were very, very good! Good showcase, great teams, GREAT players, no doubt. Yes, it is a small world. Hopefully the boys will cross paths again, at the NEXT LEVEL!!!
