Randy, is that Allan at the Robin-Sanford wedding? He looks great. Junior was happy to see him a few weeks ago.
Well I'm only a couple years late to this thread and I AM a son rather than identifying a son, but what the heck.

JPontiac, do post a picture of yourself, we need to see if you have the "baseball look".
I'll have to remind my mom not to pay for team pictures next year. That's what I get playing on a team where all my teammates flash me as I'm getting my picture taken.
Yep, JPontiac has that baseball look! Good pictures, I didn't expect them so fast.
Do you all agree with Pop up?

Haha, I'm flattered but I admit it feels a little funny being judged for my looks on here.
JPontiac, you're one of the HSBBW family now. Make sure to keep us posted on your up coming HS season and future college career. We appreciate your well written posts. So many young guys are so used to texting its refreshing to be able listen to such a well written ballplayer. I would be curious as to your SAT writing score, bet it would high.
Wow Bum, Great clip on a fine looking young man! It was good to hear another myth about player size put to rest...at least for a bit. Our son is also around 5'10" as a Junior in high school. Unsure if he'll get any taller, but he is a hard nosed player who is very capable and loves the game!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Bum, great clip on JR. I can see why WSU wants him, a lefty too! After picking up that Olympia kid this year they should dominate in pitching.
I take it he's already at Washington State? Congrats!
Thanks. He's on campus right now. kbat2012, Kenmore and Spokane are 280 miles apart! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Stay safe.

GED10, great pictures of you son. What is your son's pop time? Pop up's son going into his senior year, 6-1 220lbs, he bulked up a bit too much. Don't let you son overdue the supplements, etc. Keep us posted.
PopUpDadHitter - Thanks for the kind words. This past November/December he was in the 1.9 - 2.0 flat range regularly. He's thrown a 1.87 before at a Christmas camp, but I think it was a little quick on the watch. He just finished his off-season arm conditioning, where he threw long toss (alot) at 50-75%, working on his footwork and really focusing on getting good backspin, staying on top/behind the ball.
This may sound funny, but he throws with a brand new full leather (pearl) high dollar baseball, no BP balls, no weighted balls, and no cheap knockoffs.
As far as bulking up, he is doing alot of medium weight/high reps workouts, not much heavy stuff. He did not play FB this past fall, so he did not have to worry about really heavy weight. Although we did a informal poll of TX TECH double digit homerun hitters from 2008, surprisingly all of them were 300lb (+) bench pressers. Go figure, of course they have great flexibility too.
He takes a good daily vitamin and he drinks alot of whole milk, choc milk, and water! No skim or 2%, just regular whole milk!! No other supplements at this time. Choc Milk is the new sports drink anyway, we figure we'll give it a try.
He also loves Dr. Pepper, but he does a good job of not drinking alot of it.
I'm new to posting but I've been lurking here for some time. Finally just wanted to join in. It's been fun!
Thanks again, GED10DaD

Little update after a successful junior season. Won all-conference, overcame some adversity, and as a whole improved as a pitcher. I'm now in the thick of my summer season with the Springfield Statesmen 17U, which has also been a positive experience so far. Not much luck as far as college recruiting goes, but I'm confident the right option will come along because I know I can pitch at any level. Anyways, as is the theme in this thread, here are some updated pictures:
Fouling a pitch in regional game.

GR4Y,
I love your son's photos, especially the first one - great smile!
"he is 18 and is pretty short for his age" (5'6")
Hey, we were at an MiLB game last week (Ft. Myers Miracle, single A) and one very speedy player was 5'3" tall. So Grant is plenty tall, relatively speaking!

Mn-mom,
Thanks he take after me he has my smile!
Me and my son share this account, and my son did not belive him when i told him about the speedy 5'3 kid. He will be getting on here in a bit to make sure for himself. I think he feels better now that he knows a 5'3 baseball player made it to Milb

Yes, tell your son to check out the roster - Chris Cates, 5'3":

Also notice Ben Revere, the Twins' FIRST ROUND PICK in 2007, not much taller than your son at 5'9".
We saw both of them play last week for the Miracle.

That is an eye opening picture! You have reinforced my appreciation for the facilaties that our sons play on over here in the states.
What a life experience for your young men, I bet your older son is loving playing once again on grass!

Yeah, and it's all measured in meters. "Hey,bruh, let's see you jack one over the 97 meter fence in left."
It's just not the same.
