playfair and coach_May, thank you for the compliment. I am happy for the Dillon. He is a great kid who derserved this. We had one other school in South on him and the SD State deal went on this morning and he got it done. Not a bad deal for the kids. One now gets to play for the Titans and Dillon gets to live and play in San Diego. I have a couple more seniors that we are trying get somewhere. The funny deal is they were not good enough for UNLV but yet just fine for Fullerton and SD State.

SVG, It is strange that they were not good enough for UNLV but is good enough for Fullerton, is the player a pitcher who can be absorbed in the bullpen?

This coach acts like his ex Juco is some kind of endless well of talent. While there was a good mix of talent, he seems to forget he had what may have been the prodigy of the decade and his brother who won eleven games as a pitcher and these guys will not be joining him. Without those two would this Juco have gotten as far as they did?

Very good point here, I'm surprised no one else mentioned this. Chambers is riding on Harper's coat tails.

Coach May, as usual very good points you bring up and living by your word. TPM had a very valid point about the big prospects using their NLI as MLB bargining chips. If you don't have one, MLB knows they can pay far less for your services.

This has got to be one of the most interesting posts in a long time. Time will tell if Chambers can make UNLV a D1 powerhouse. One thing for sure, with him taking the cream of CSN, Western Nevada should fare well next year. And by the way, Western Nevada swept CSN and the #1 pick at home last spring.
I haven't posted here for a long time. This thread caught my attention as it is so close to home. Rumblings of Gouldsmith's leaving could have been heard for a couple years if one listened. Buddy knew he was leaving and didn't call his recruits ahead of time to allow them to make other plans?

Tim Chambers has been a good influence around these parts for many years. Not once has he gotten any bad press specific to his character as a man or a coach. His former players do not talk unkindly of him, I have only heard good things about Chambers. He is the new UNLV coach. Around here we have all seen that coming for a couple years, also. I am sorry about how that went down for those boys that thought they were going to play here.
I have players at UNLV and Gouldsmith told his team the moment he found out he was let go. He had to did this during the Mountain West Conference. The incoming recruits we know got a call from the coaches let them know right away he was let go. The AD had told our recruit everything was fine and not to look anywhere else, everything would be fine.
