Murphy 2-run single -- FM 5 Coppell 3 in the 5th. 3 errors for CC.

Millard on for Neal in the 6th. Double for Watten -- their 4th hit. No runs -- to the bottom of the inning.

Lead-off single for Stephens. SH to move runner to 3rd. No runs -- to the 7th. Nice job by De La Chapelle.

Tough situation with the lightning delay. Congratulations to both teams!

I also left during the lightning delay.

ob-n...you are a doll. It was good to see you and I wish we could had visited longer. Since I made that crack about teachers, you know where I stand with collikar. Roll Eyes

funnel...equally nice to see you. You are really one of the baseball good guys. good

Hated to leave such a good game...great crowd! But as collikar can attest, I need my beauty sleep. pull_hair

I have to admit Coppell was out played and out pitched. It is a game of inches. Mummey set the tone early, robbing Kaskow of an early RBI. Green was ahead of the hitters in the first but the curve just didn't move enough. Good hitting my FM. The baseball God's wore Blue tonight.

English would like to have the coin flip back I bet. I know I would rather see those two teams play at least one more.

Good Luck in the next round.
OB-N, thanks so much for rooting on a fellow district team! It was so nice to get to spend some time with you-we have both been so busy and, darn it-work just seems to get in the way of everything fun! FD-it was nice meeting you -especially on such a special night! As to the screen name Catchallmom- When my son moved from catcher to right field I thought about changing my screen name, but then it occured to me that he still better catch everything that comes his way and I can bet that lots of things will still fall to me to catch/do -hence, I will stay with Catchallmom! The boys did a great job tonight! Congrats to them! It was very special!
what is the saying "Karma is a ......

And I think a very good lesson has been learned throughout this process. The pen (or keyboard in this situation) is not always mightier than the sword.....I do hope I can remember this lesson next year when our team is hopefully back in the hunt.....

Good Luck to the remaining teams, my envy continues and enjoy the RIDE..............

Flower Mound won the game but the Coppell boys never stopped fighting.

Congratulations to Flower Mound.

Coppell had a great season and a District Championship is something to be proud of!!

We are going to miss the seniors but there were only a few of them and that means Coppell starts next year with a good returning core of starting juniors and underclassman.

Both guys that pitched in this game are coming back and Coppell finished the game with three freshman on the field. The boys will be looking forward to playing FM at least twice next year. The top three hitters will be back and they might even get a little more help next year. Our program is in good shape and there are a couple of young pitchers on there way.

That said, even with added pitching, Coach English still might have went with a one game playoff with Cole Green on the mound. Everyone has a bad day but Cole only had a bad inning and he still looked pretty good during that inning.

Careful about the “slaw” comments because your next order of Cole “slaw” just might have a sharp bite and a bad after taste.
