They should have a strong defense with a strong starting lineup pitying can improve along with bench players but with x pro Anderson along with purl and cook who knows

The coaching staff is definitely there to mold a district champion team. If I were another team in 9-4A I would be sweating at the thought of playing the raccoons this year even though they are the underdogs and are getting no recognition at all.

My last word are predictions the four playoff teams will be mckinney,sherman,frisco,north

I am new to this site and I am just testing this out. I have enjoyed reading all these comments and plan to be on here frequently.

I have a question, is McKinney the only school in the district that plays all their Friday night games on the road? (The last Friday game is home, rest on the road)

Just checked Mckinney North schedule... we play all Friday night games at home. (Except the last one is on the road)

We ran into the same thing in District 5-5A. Northwest has 2 Friday night home games and Grapevine doesn't get any. That means other teams are getting 5 or 6 Friday home district tilts. Friday nights are the best attended games and usually results in increased concession sales.

Disappointing they couldn't find a way to balance that better, but scheduling is a b*&^%...I mean a bear and I wouldn't volunteer to do it.

Anyway, what a great district 9-4A. I believe this district will be very good top to bottom for 4A. (Nobody will go 0-14 or 2-12)

Anybody know who pitched in the Boyd vs. Frisco game? Must have been a good game, I heard it was 4-3 Boyd.

Everybody pitched in that game I think that each team had a new pitcher each innning.

There were alot of close games last night. looks like the race will be tighter than everybody thought it would.

Yes, I think any team can win on a given night in this district. It should be a great season with almost every team having a shot at the four playoff spots.

I agree on all except Sherman losing to North (I'm sorry because you are a North fan). Sherman is really solid and unless Ladd pitches lights out which he is capable of doing I don't see North winning. I wouldn't call Wakeland beating Centennial an upset either.

I have not seen Sherman play this year, but hear they are solid, my son has played with a few of the Sherman players during the summer. Hope it works out for North.
Wakeland has a solid team also, they will upset a few this season.

I think Wakeland is one of the better teams in 9-4A to be honest. I follow Frisco and they have played Sherman twice this year. I didn't get to go see the one at the Sherman tournament but Sherman looked really good Tuesday and so did Frisco. Sherman's best pitchers, Blalock and Powell, were solid and their lineup didn't have holes.

their pitching was solid. there was just so many errors on both sides... and lots of bloop hits including 3 by myself haha

Just remember 3 bloop hits look like 3 line drives in the box score! A 3 hit night is still a 3 hit night and a very good night that is baseball. Who pitched for Sherman and Frisco? Did Blalock and Powell both pitch in that game for Sherman? Was the errors caused by the weather or just sloppy play. Our game against North had very good weather until the bottom of the 6th until about 2 minutes after Ty Crump hit a BOMB (Grand Salami) off one of the Titan Relievers. North scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to erase a 3 run deficit. Crump's Bomb was still going up when it left the ballpark and may have landed in Sherman! After the Bomb, the wind starting blowing "IN" hard and the temperature dropped 10-15 degrees. The last few innings were tough to play as our game went into extra innings and the weather really changed.

i ended up having a pretty good night. 5-5 HR, 4 RBI's. Both Powell and Blalock threw. We were down 9-3 and came back, and the same wind came to our game. The errors were some sloppy but some were questionable.

Yes sir, he is our hitting and catching coach and has personally helped me a lot.

How about that Frisco Liberty Team off to a 2-0 Start. After receiving no love in this poll, those guys appear be off to a great start. As well as McKinney and McKinney North (both already 2-0), but no surprises there. Anyone have any details of the Frisco vs Liberty game?

I was not at the Frisco vs Liberty game but Tyler Durham was the winning pitcher for Liberty and Frisco had three hits. (1 was a HR) Score was 5-1, Liberty out hit Frisco 6 to 3...

Should be interesting tomorrow night when North and Liberty play.

Yes, should be a good game. Not sure who will pitch tonight but Lee pitched on Friday for MHS and Ladd pitched for MNHS on Friday as well.

I think MHS need start the game hot to win. Both are good teams and the pressure should be high. MHS is having a "Gold Rush" at the game. (T-shirt promo to hopefully put a big crowd in the stands)

Anyone have the results of the Frisco - Dennison Game last Night? That is the only 9-4A Game that has not had the results posted yet.

It sounds like the McKinney vs McKinney North Game was also a great game. Congrats to Jake Smith on hitting another Bomb. The District Standings for 2nd-5th Place sure has bunched up. McKinney is looking very strong early on as expected they have some great pitching and now their bats are heating up. Hopefully Centennial can make a game of it Friday night as I expect it to be another good pitching match-up between a couple of very good Juniors as Lee vs Dzurisin/Nelson.

Justin Scharf and Matt Lipka pitched lights out Tuesday night. What a game. Mckinney came out on top this time. The rivalry game did not disappoint. The next Mckinney North/ Mckinney game will see a Ladd vs Lee matchup. Stay tuned.

Does anyone know if Scharf has always thrown with that submarine delivery? When he is ahead in the count he is as good as I have seen. (No way would I want to face that)

This district just got very tight. It will be fun watching to see who will pull away over the next three weeks...

There are a few minor surprises but as most predicted this is a very tight race and in my opinion a very good district that will do well in the playoffs.

Sherman vs Centennial tonight, then McKinney vs North and Wakeland vs Sherman on Friday will be big games in determining which four make the playoffs.

I guess I'll have to eat crow on my bold "Sherman won't be any good" prediction.

I do like the fact McKinney has Lee going VS. North and Sherman in the second half.

That being said, as the GREAT MHS Coach Price once told me, "this district will always come down to the last week."

I agree, Lee has only given up 1 hit in his last 2 starts. North and Sherman both have good pitching too. McKinney will need to do a better job of stringing hits together to win these games. (Getting the bunt down and doing the little things that win tight games)

This district will come down to the last week not only for who wins it but which teams get into the playoffs as well.

Been hanging around for a while and thought I'd finally give posting a shot. 9-4A is really heating up, it should be a tight last half of district. In response to 7-2 PO, I agree that MHS has a tough schedule remaining and their games with North are always exciting and fun but I would think North will see Zach Lee on Friday. Not to take anything away from any pitcher in the district but from past experiencesof my son playing against him he is far and away the top pitcher in the district, probably was last year as a sophomore. I think North might have their hands full. But hey thats why we play the game. I'll be anxious to see the score friday night and good luck to all teams.
