I know Poteet and Forney are always tough in this district. Any ideas on how this district will end up?

poteet lost a lot of pitching last year, so it will be hard for them to replace all their solid left handed pitchers zach snyder and chris goode transferred out. they didn't lose anybody in the lineup so hitting should be their strong point this year. Red Oak will win district as they should have last year, and Terrell will be awful once again. Forney will be solid and might beat Red Oak once, but other than that they will win out.
orvill, chris goode tranferred to lakehill but would have been poteet's #4 pitcher at best. loosing his stick hurts more than the arm. snyder was a 2009 and is at lyon college in arkansas. top three pitchers are returning but there will be a new short stop, third base, second base, and center fielder. biggest loss will be brett doe's bat and leadership. having said that i think it will be forney, red oak, poteet, mabank, terrell, west, and lancaster. i would like to hear your opinion on how red oak should have won district last year when poteet went undefeated and if i remember right red oak finished third behind forney.
Poteet should be solid again this year. I think they will make the playoffs as they have done 17 out of the last 18 years. I think Red Oak will be the team that takes district this year. They are solid all the way around. I don't think we can beat them twice this year. And I heard Forney might have a former pitcher coming back to take over the #1 spot. So it might look like this: #1 Red Oak, #2 Forney, #3 Poteet, #4 Mabank or West.
i heard chris goode was poteet's best returning pitcher until he transferred. what others are better than this kid? who is poteet's ace this year? and i thought your centerfielder was a junior last year, did he transfer too? and red oak should have won, but threw games away against teams. they almost beat poteet in the last game of the year, but made some key mistakes.
Orville I'm not sure where you get your info from and just to be clear I am not associated with district 15-4A in any way! But here is how it is. First of all Chris Goode was the #4 pitcher last season, Zack Snyder was #3 Red Oak Never faced Poteets #1 or #2 pitchers last season and win they brought in Lewis Nonemaker Red Oak could not hit him at all and he is back to close once again! Moody was the center fielder last season but he will be replaced by a junior, Moody will probably play second base. Poteets #1 pitcher is Blake Griffin he had a two hitter against Texarkana last season in 7 innings in the play offs! (Remember the team that won State.)The #2 pitcher is Austin Blunt the big lefty first baseman. (Has already signed with Howard) Then there is the 3# #4 #5 this could be a toss up, Beau Nowell is back no telling where he will fit in. He is a big time player very good pitcher awesome bat, He moved back in after being gone awhile. You may remember his big brother Teddy Nowell. Well Beau is better than Teddy! Then you have Tyler Franklin another very good lefty and several others that will fight it out for position. The thing is as hard as it is to believe Poteet will be better this year. They only lost three starters and their junior replacements are going to be an upgrade. The short stop Brett Does defense will not be replaced but the new bats in the lineup are a huge upgrade!
If you think their offense was good last season just wait! And those starting pitchers have only gotten better! So this is why I think Poteet will once again win district. They have only gotten better! And they will be the team to beat in the 15-4A distict.

in no particular order poteet's top three pitchers are nonemaker, blunt, and griffin. the bigger the game the better griffin pitches. nonemaker is the hardest thrower and blunt is in the same mold as teddy nowell. blunt and nonemaker have already signed so it's hard to say who is #1, #2, #3. will be hard to find a better trio in high school ball. my guess is that nowell will play third and moody is moving from center to short. he has been playing out of position the last couple of seasons. second base is up in the air, but there are several that can fill in. should go six or seven deep with the bats which is where we were last season and we scored a lot of runs then. still think we will finish behind red oak and forney but should make a nice run in the playoffs.
orville, the first game against red oak last season poteet dominated from the first inning and never were in the game. the second game was 5-2 red oak going into the 7th and they couldn't finish. poteet ended up winning 6-5 in the 9th and this was after poteet has clinched district. i believe red oak split with forney and also lost to mabank. very hard to say that they should have won district. red oak had a very fine season last year and if they learn to close out games they will be even better. you might want to go to poteet's web-site and print a schedule so you can see a few more games this year.

jack-rabbit, the word here is that chris goode is once again unhappy and is transferring back to forney. he has been told that he will finally be the #1 there. good luck and can't wait to see yall this year. i know your glad to have chris a little closer to home. at least be able to watch him play a little more.

So with this being chris goode's third transfer, will he have more transfers than varsity wins in his career? i'm not sure what happened to this kid with all the hype that was surrounding him on this website.

so beau is better than his older brother?? wow poteet must be on a cake walk to state i guess because its nearly impossible to beat the numbers his brother put up in high school, both offensively and defensively. Obviously you know a lot about this poteet team, i was thinking about attending some games of theirs this year, maybe i can find you and you can show me who these kids are. Go pirates, i like the way you are thinking with no decided 1,2, or 3 pitcher. That's the way it should be on a great hs team unless you have one absolute stud. You pitch whoever you match up against with the best. I wish good luck to all of these teams, but i still think that red oak will win this district. And none of these teams could compete with the Heath Hawks. Those kids will walk away with state according to popular opinion because you must remember baseball is about what team is better on paper. Which is Heath, once again..
we agree on one thing orville. heath is last years texarkana and i don't see anyone that can compete with them on paper. they grew up a lot last year and will only be better this year. i've heard that their top three pitchers are all throwing close to 90. hard to compete against that. i heard today that goode has already signed so i guess he figures that forney gives him a better shot at a ring than poteet does. can't wait to see you at some games. look me up and i will buy you a hot chocolate. copeland gets pretty cold in february.
Everyone needs to be reminded that Heath, despite returning some quality pitchers, has 4 huge spots to replace from last year. Lewis was the district offensive MVP and played a remarkeable 2B. Martin was a superb lead off hitter with an average over .420 and nearly 30 stolen bases. Verhagen, even though he could not pitch, was a huge weapon and power source at DH. Bielski was as clutch as they come and ran down everything in CF. So, yes, expectations are high at Heath but the realist in me says we should play the games before anyone starts talking championships. Good luck to everyone-stay healthy.

What does Red Oak have this year? They lost their catcher, I thought, and at least one pitcher. I do not have a dog in the hunt, just curious.

They lost one heck of lead off hitter and utility player/pitcher. They have some really good young talent coming back. I watched them play a few times last year. I thought they just needed another season under their belt. Plus they have one of the top high school coaches in the area that will have them ready to play the big games.JMHO.

beast, red oak lost the best player in the district last year in kissinger, behind maybe colton browning, but they will restock this year and win this weak district. Poteet doesn't have the pitching to beat them this year. I made it out to the Poteet and Red Oak game in RO, and the lefty that threw that game for you pirates had stellar stuff, they will miss that guys arm for sure.
