DGN made up their rained out game versus Proviso East today. DGN won the game, but I was truly impressed by Pro E's 2nd baseman. Great speed, excellent lefty stroke at the plate, and most importantly, he hustled. I don't know his name, but he had a good day today and I hope he has a great year.

I also noticed the same thing about that guy. I believe it is possible he gets lessons at Strikes from one of their instructors.

They also have a pitcher, who wasn't at our last game, who was good. I believe he transfered in from Barrington.

They both gave their all during our games and, when I talked to them, were very nice individuals.
At Leyden...

DGN 7 - Leyden 6 in 8 innings.

I have to say that I am really impressed with the Leyden program right now. There was no quit in these guys as the lead went back and forth throughout the game. Even after we scored two runs in the top of the 8th, Leyden scored a run and threatened to score more. I think the DGN kids have a lot of respect for this team...I know I do.

St. Charles East still playing well. Nice comeback vs. Elgin last night. McQuade singles in tying run in the 6th. Frede knocks in Demartino with the winner in the 7th. Kennedy 3 for 3 with a jack, Hoscheit 2-3. Saints have won 9 of last 12, loses are to STCN (2) and Neuqua Valley. Might get one last shot at St. Charles North in regional final. They are very good!

I'm not to sure about that 3-peat for the City Title, Clemente is gonna give Lane a run for their money. Their is only one thing to do and that is wait... May 21 @ Wrigley Field

Yeah, thats whats been said the previous 2 years.
Lane has the pitching and enough offense,Lane wiil
3- Peat Guranteed.
We were fortunate to be able to play against two very good teams this past Saturday in a revolving tournament. Triad, Greenville and Nashville rotate both varsity and JV tournament each year. The Varsity played this year at Nashville while the JV played at Greenville.

Many of you in the north get to play at some outstanding venues. However, you'd love to play at Nashville. Some of the best infield turf you'll ever see. The diamond is spotless. It is a mini-Wrigley Field complete with brick wall etc. The wrap around seating and press box are top notch! The place and this tournament in general is always packed! Congratulations of Coach Chad Malawy and his Nashville program for hosting this year's tournament and for having such outstanding accomodations. Also, Good luck to both Nashville and Coach Todd Hutchinson's Greenville squads as they prepare for the post season. I don't like to post often on my team but the Knights had a very good weekend.

LOL, you guarantee a 3-Peat, I'm going to let the game do the talking, but you just be careful with those guarantees!

LOL I'm serious, I like Clemente if any team has a chance of winning City other than Lane it's them
BUT honestly they would have a tough shot even if they had Garcia who's hurt playing and they just squeaked by Taft a team that was better last year.

I've been following CPL baseball a long time.Lane would have to have a really bad game and the other team has play nearly flawless to get it upset.
So yes 3-Peat Guranteed.

Or.. or a desperate snake. That could do it. Ask someone how today's Lane game went. Just don't ask me, I might slip into language that would ban me from the forums.

BTW Careful with guarantees? Careful with "3-peat"! Didn't someone copyright that? :-)
