Please forgive me for posting about my team but we had a very good tournament this weekend. We were very fortunate to gain wins over Lincoln High School (12-3), Tinley Park Andrew (4-3 in bottom of 7th) and Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin (9-2). Edwardsville also went 3-0 in the tournament and so, congratulations to them as well. We were awarded 1st on the tie breaker = fewest runs allowed. That was nice since we've been on the short end of that tie breaker 2 times in past years.

Coach Hake and his staff put on a tremendous tournament. Great baseball is the rule rather than the exception each year!

Finally, I was able to spend the evening Friday night talking to Coach Ganser and his staff. What a nice bunch of guys. Coach Ganser has been a great ambassador of the game and I know that I feel priviledge to call him friend!

Leyden - 5
York - 4

Anthony Even was 3-4 with 2 triples. Right now he is hitting somewhere around .550 - .600.

Leyden 12-4 (5-3)

Mike F. / lsc,

I think I have a fairly good idea of what an album is, but I could be wrong. Wink

On "Mr. Culver" : I remember when I was a freshman and played on sophomore, Culver was also doing the same. I saw him and was instantly afraid to pitch... I kind of still feel that same way to this day. I know one mistake pitch to him could be a bad, bad thing.

Tough day for Downers Grove today...DGN dropped both ends to Hinsdale Central today.

Game 1: HC 5 - DGN 4
Game 2: HC 9 - DGN 6

HC's Suchy made one of the better catches you'll ever see in center field...running straight back on a drive and diving going away from the plate. Awesome catch! And HC's Dinardo can hit the ball 400+ feet (he showed us once in each game).

See you boys men on Monday.

pitcher25, I wasn't aware that anyone kept stats of DuPage County players. Is there a link to those leader lists somewhere?

Thanks,

Mike F
