What gets me is how hard young baseball players now work.  These kids really, really work to perfect their craft.  They put in more hours than kids of my generation did by a very long shot.  They are truly focused, dedicated, and passionate.  They are competing at a much, much higher level than I ever did at their age.  So i don't think they have been "ruined" at all.

You’re correct. I’ve read things my great granddad wrote that pretty much said it, heard my granddad and my dad say it, and I’ve said it too. I say it because I simply don’t understand the thinking of a lot of people, and I suspect its been the same for those generations preceding mine, and will be the same for those that follow.

 

I suspect that many blame their generation for the ruination because their life’s philosophy isn’t the current popular one, so instead of just admitting that, they cast blame in order to show how wrong those who don’t agree with them are.
