IDOL THOUGHTS

Saw an interview with Queen today....they are very positive about the way rehearsals have gone....complimented the whole group.....should be fun to watch.....

I'm totally guessing here, but I'd put my money on Bucky doing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", Simon calling it the most insipid performance EVER on Idol, and Bucky going home.....

I haven't been following Idol but now you've got me watching. Bucky was up first and I have to agree with Simon - mediocre, a few pitch problems! I love some of the other Queen songs so I have to stay tuned.

Have to wait 2 1/2 more hours before we can see Idol.....appreciate the early preview.....how did Taylor do?

Taylor Hicks is like Joe Cocker borned again, in my humble opinion, and has been filled with the magic that surrounds him no matter what he sings. Soul Patrol Baby ! Taylor is the champion my friends and a winner no matter what the outcome. Crazy Little Thing Called Love is not his best performance though...Hope he's got thick skin

Whew, what a relief, I disagree with Simon about Taylor - I loved "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"! (Simon said, "Taylor, are you drunk?") I really liked Kellie too, but most of the others sounded like they were doing karaoke.

(That was kind of harsh - they are all talented, but what a tough assignment, to sing Queen!)

CHRIS ROCKS! Sure wish he'd done a song I had actually heard.

So...what I'm hearing is I may have to put Taylor's voting phone number on speed dial....

.....MN-Mom...this is the first year we have watched it too.....and addiction would now be a good way to describe how we feel about the show....it's a lot of fun....

I agree with Simon concerning Chris' performance...he chose a horrible song, but probably performed it well...I certainly wouldn't know...I didn't understand a single word!

I couldn't believe it when I heard that Pickler was doing "Bohemian Raphsody".....I thought she would completely bomb it....BUT, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well she did! However, I am a "Soul Patrol" addict and was happy to see Taylor finally return to his unique self tonight. LOVE that guy!

Luvbb....you know I think very highly of you....and.... I don't know how to say this diplomatically.... considering that you definitely are one of my all time favorite posters.....but.....get in line girlfriend!

An old white man who has salt 'n pepper hair and can't dance. Reminded me (agree with Simon) of the drunk at the end of the wedding reception who tries to sing and dance and he can't do either one!

Grew up a big Queen fan having seen them in concert about 4 times. Freddie Mercury was an incredible performer. IMO it's virtually impossible to copy Queen and sound good but thought Taylor was most entertaining.

A lot of people liken Taylor to Joe Cocker but I dont see it and I worked with Cocker---Taylor for though is the best performer in the group --whether or not he is an IDOL is another thing

With his voice though,he is going to make some great records if given the proper material

Ladynmom...you are more than welcome to cut in front of me in that line...altho I am sure it is quite a long one at this point! Guess alot of us like that old (ripe old age of 28!) salt 'n pepper look with a unique personality that brings a smile to our face. And yes...that man can sing too!

AS much as I love Taylor, I thought he had been playing it safe the past couple of weeks. Was glad to see him return to his unique form THIS week. Definetly a performer!

Judging by the reaction he gets from my wife and daughter, I don't think he looks goofy. He has got sort of a George Clooney look. Someone else said he looks like Mark Cubin. His voice sounds most closely like Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. He should do "Takin it to the Streets" and he'll bring the house down.

I don't see Chris losing unless he does something stupid.

I'm not a Taylor fan. Early on I liked his charm, but now he just irritates me...I like Ace, but I agree, he is Constantine-esque. I think he's leaving tonight, especially since he was in the bottom three for the past two or three weeks...

The Queen was not very good to Chris...

I still think the final two will be Chris and Katherine...

Well, I've read all the posts about Taylor....and he is still number one in my book....and will be back next week....count on it!

Can't believe I'm publicly admitting to watching Idol but Taylor's the one I look forward to every week. Outside of just watching Katherine that is.
