As far as I'm concerned, it's not necessarily "who" but "why". Apparently, if you're of the female persuasion, it's ok to find a male American Idol contestant "charming". But if you're of the male persuasion and indicate that a female American Idol contestant is "cute", then you get a Roll Eyes. They're masking their drool behind "objective appreciation" and simply not willing to admit it.
Beezer....I'll tell you what I'm willing to admit....I'm married to the most handsome, wonderful and charming man in the world......and while I do find Taylor charming....he can't hold a lick, spit or drool to my man.......

...that said.....don't bother checking out page 2....the thread is out of commission....probably too many hits......or flooding..... rotlaugh
LadyNmom:

Since you asked...

Taylor did just ok. The fellow on the preview, when Taylor was working with the pros, said Taylor probably has the most charisma out of all of them...he said that was a good thing.

Randy did not like the performance or the song choice...Paula was luke warm, but commented on how handsome he looked...and Simon compared Taylor's performance to the ubiquitous lounge act...Paula tried to drown Simon out at the end of his commentary...Simon didn't finish...too bad...his criticism is professional and if taken to heart can help each contestant.
Here is how I’d rank em.

1 – Chris (by a land slide)
2 – Katherine (think she’ll come back strong next week)
3 – Elliot (though I can’t see him winning it)
4 – Paris (sings better than she talks)
5 – Pickler (great song, wrong singer)
6 – Taylor (Mr. Excitement was extra boring tonight)
7 – Paula (Did Elliot’s performance bring anyone else to tears?)

Taylor should bite the dust tomorrow. Still can’t believe Chris was in the bottom 3 last week. He is the best and most unique singer in the contest.
Ladynmom....funniest moment of the night....make sure you pay attention to Simon after Elliott's performance when Paula is CRYING because she was so MOVED by the performance. Pay attention to Simon cracking up right next to her! Big Grin Second best moment of the night...right behind Chris's great performance.

I think Taylor just didn't pick a good song for him tonight. I didn't feel that he felt comfortable with the song. He wasn't himself. But I think (hope)he has a big enough following
to get him thru til next week.

Found it disturbing that the judges busted on Katherine for singing a Whitney song....but didn't say anything to Paris about attempting a Barbra Streisand song. IMO Katherine did better job than Paris did.

LadyNMom - You'll like Chris' performance - trust me!!! Smile

Luvbb - Simon was so funny! Didn't you feel like cracking up too watching Paula. I appreciate her tenderness with some folks, but crying????? LOL I didn't think Katherine was very good tonight and that song was a poor choice. However, I'm not a big fan of Paris' anyway, so I did feel Katherine did better than her. noidea
Don't believe the quality of performances-at this point-are going to be a factor. I imagine most minds are made up at this point and it's a popularity vote regardless of
each weeks' performances.

If there were professional judges each week it would be a different story-sure am glad that Paula and Randi don't have a say. Simon is abrasive but probably tries to be objective, although at times I think he's been way off(he originally didn't want to let
Taylor even go to Hollywood).

IMO opinion after tomorrow night(assuming Pickler is gone)they all would be quality choices for #1 although I DO have a favorite. Cool

I have to admit, Kellie wasn't too good last night. That didn't keep us from voting for her for two hours, but...

I thought Chris was awful too, but I guess I dont' know what I'm talking about. I thought Katherine was terrific, but I must have been wrong about that too.

By the way, accoridng to dialidol.com, Paris will be going home tonight.
Kellie did do a great job of setting herself up to be the next Bachelorette. That could be a very funny show.

Been....Kellie's problem last night was that she opened her mouth and sang....had nothing to do with her hairdo...and I think the "dumb act" is over...did you hear her use the word "robotic" during her practice session? This from a girl who had trouble with the word salmon?

Taylor remains my favorite and I thought he did well....but Elliot was the best. If he only had some of Taylor's personality....he would have been a top contender all along.....

and.....don't forget we are three hours behind you Easterners.....so feel free to post early tonight....I hate suspense!

Kelli played the game the way the Fox plays the game, she found a nitch and took advantage of it. Some say she was putting on an act, but, isn't that what the entertainment biz is all about. She was the worst of the rest, but she will do fine on her own. I think behind that cute persona is very calculating young lady.

Does anyone doubt that this competition is as much about the judges and the host as it is about the contestants? Ratings Baby!

She will do fine...along with a bunch of the others who are no longer around. They're all very calculating...that's what it takes to succeed...anywhere.
