Baloney. First of all, any arguments about what the government and the pioneers did is silly. They acted as they thought appropriate at the time. To argue with current hindsight and modern sensibilities is pointless and less than intellectually honest. Second, sometimes the majority is right. That is what the PC people simply cannot accept.

Actually the squirrels around our house are very happy with me since I keep them fed year round and our cat doesn't bother them too much...now the chipmunks, that's quite a different story...the cat has taken a real licking...err liking to them!
