sox.... As long as you have owners that are willing to keep paying "players" like Ramirez, nothing will change. And, I'm also willing to bet that Ramirez is bummed-out at the way the team is playing. But, because he gets paid so well, and that he doesn't have to ride-the-bench at all, he figures that it's not his fault, but everyone elses!!!!! The manager needs to pull the team together as one unit, on-the-same-page, to get over this reaally bad time. Look at what Leyland has done in...

Excellent Post LOW337!!!! I have refrained from posting in this thread expressing my opinion but here it goes. Some very valid and good points came out of that last post. The main one was, "come up with a figure and stick with it"-LOW in pre-draft agreement. Don't get greedy and miss your opportunity. The one part of my experience personally after signing in the "PROS" pointed out in LOW's post was the instruction received on a more individual basis, daily. In college, it was much different...

Re: Short to zone...Long through zone

Linear ·
Put your hands at the arm pit. Load the scap. Your rear hand/arm now resembles a boxer about to punch. Do this dynamically as you load your pelvis and then swing with connection. At first, you'll feel the hands "locked" there by the connection and rotation. Shortly thereafter, the rotation is such that it trys to force the hands to move forward. The degree they move is how much you let them move. And, you let them move according to the pitch location (inside, middle, outside). There is very...

Re: Will "The Thrill" Clark!!!

Agreed , I participated in this for one reason. It is relatively easy to teach a purely rotational swing . It is also relatively hard to teach it with weight shift. ****** teaching weigh shift is hard to do with lower body cues and that is why I failed at it for so long...there...I am not a know it all I gave what I believe to be a valuable tip. I find it hard to get a kid to load, shift, rotate. Sounds easy by operationalizing it is not. The shift in baseball and golf is teachable when the...

OK here is what I did. I purchased a SONY VRD-VC20 $220.00. This does NOT use a computer. You hook your VCR directly to the SONY DVD Unit, insert a DVD in the unit , push "play" on your VCR and "record" on the you have just converted your VHS to DVD in real time. You can also hook your video camera (digital or analog) (A/V cable, S-Video, cable, or firewire) and burn DVD's. PLUS, I said it doesn't use a computer ...BUT.. use the USB port on the VC20, hook it to the USB on your computer and...

Re: converting VHS to DVD

That unit is probably alot less hassle than digitizing it thru your computer. You could also get a DVD recorder and go straight to that from the VCR. Me, I did it the hard way--with the "pass through" feature on my digital camcorder, then to the computer. A lot of hassle, but more fun.

Re: converting VHS to DVD

Fungo I just bought a vhs/dvd combo unit that also records either. All I have to do is put the tape in, format a dvd in the other, and push a button. It's so simple even I figured it out. Plus I now have the convenience of recording shows off the TV on DVD. To be honest, I don't want to edit the old footage. I want to see all the goofy stuff, including the wiggly frames. There were times my wife was recording my youngest while I was off coaching my oldest that were great. She would turn the...

Re: Hitting Coaches

baseballpapa ·
Be careful of a coach that teaches all kids one way. Especially if the one way is either rotational or weight-shift theories. There is a certain fingerprint about hitting. No two seem to look alike. The other bewares if you hear the following... 1. Stay inside the ball. Very few kids even know what this mean. 2. Swing level. The barrel starts above the strike zone and goes down. To swing level, you have to drop and sweep. 3. Drive everything to the opposite field. Most lessons should start...
