There was never a time they weren't.

Who funds Al Qaeda? America and Europe. The number one source for money for the Taliban is the opiate trade. We can't just go burn the poppy fields, because that would take income away from the rural Afghanistan farmers trying to eek out a living. We'd be opening the door for more American hate and allowing the Taliban to positively influence rural populations.

There's an easy solution, we just can't reconcile it in our own minds because we've been so indoctrinated over the years with the "drug war". If we're actually going to call it a war, then America is now 8-2.

When I was in Mexico, I had drug cartel guys approach me about transporting drugs up north for them. Told them no. I had to have my vehicles checked every time I crossed the border into the US. I asked the border guys to do it. It was common practice to attach Drugs to the undercarriage of vehicles while they were unattended.
One time I was in a bar and the bar tender asked me to give a couple of American girls a ride back to the US. One was very indicated. I agreed. They got in my van. I drove a few yards to a Mexican sewer. I stopped and told them if they had an drugs on them to flush them down the sewer as I would advise the guards that I didn't know them and suspected drugs. Out came the joints from behind their compact mirrors. I asked if they had anymore and I warned them again. We proceeded to the border and they were checked. The 1st place they looked was behind the compact mirrors.
I have been in Mexico when they raided the Mafia houses. The Federalis just shot the houses until there were only splinters left.
Yes they have been losing the war on drugs.

BHD,

Just in case you're wondering...I don't fly to London...

Not a good deal for this guy...I guess he should have sought EAP assistance. Very sad...
