No problem. the dynamics of College baseball recruiting, placement etc has always been interesting at best, the issue that you've outlined is not new, it has just been magnified based on supply and demand of prized resources, Student Athletes. A different version of Human Capital Management.
Team Jam24 will get this done and then tell those people that come behind some of the nuances of this business.

To transfer or not to transfer is a family decision. I was saying if he's going to remain at the school, why give up the money? That is the part I don't understand.

@Jam24, you asked for advice in your original post on the thread you started, "Other 2020's getting screwed?" You received the advice you asked for and yet chose a path which nobody recommended--or even considered for that matter. So forgive us for feeling a bit incredulous, as I don't think it was a very wise choice at all. I'm usually of the same mind with you concerning the "snarky" comments on this board but in this case I feel my response could (and should) be taken as "advice" or warning for those that may happen upon this thread in the future.
As far as NCAA doing something about it, well, they have, it's called the National Letter of Intent. I'm sure if you complained to them they would tell you the very exact same thing. There is nothing protecting the player when it comes to whether a coach feels a player is good enough for his team, there is only a one-year guarantee of athletic money for the student-athlete's education. That what college is for, after all.
There will be many more student-athletes looking to transfer this winter and they weren't even asked to give up their athletic scholarships. And that is nothing new, C-19 or otherwise.

The first one being that I am not seeking other advice than on this page, and that other people - who have a lot more experience in this than you - might have said something different. Here's who my family has talked to about this:
- two other D1 coaches: an associate head coach at a P5 and pitching coach at an Ivy
- three athletic directors: one each at a D1, D2, and D3
- one VP at the NCAA; one policy staffer at the NCAA
- two Junior college coaches
- admissions officers at 7 colleges
- admissions officer at one high school for a PG option
I have appreciated and responded to most of the advice I have gotten on this page because even if it's not the path we chose, it has been given with empathy and thoughtfulness; it is your condescending tone and attitude that has been problematic.

You may feel as though I was being condescending but I can assure you that was NOT my intention. I won't apologize for thinking giving up an athletic scholarship and remaining at the same school is a very bad choice. But if you feel it was wise and the list of folks you listed agree with you--then good luck!

Campbell has been a notorious over recruiter for years, but I’m not aware of any restrictions on the number of JuCo players that are allowed on an NCAA baseball roster. Last time I looked at the transfer portal there were 5 players from Campbell looking to transfer - and 2 of them are grads.

There's no NCAA rule that limits the number of JUCO transfers who can be on an NCAA team. There certainly could have been other rules that were violated, but it wouldn't be simply based on the number of JUCO transfers on the roster.
