Corona Pony is in it for the first time. They lost the first game on Sunday 6-5 to Chesterfield, VA. Corona Pony had won 25 straight game prior to that loss. My son played for the Corona Pony coach last year and this guy deserves alot of credit. Go Corona Pony!

YoungGunDad, I just figured out the curling....I'M THE ONE SUPPOSED TO BREAK OUT THE 6-PACK OF MOLSON. All these years of being bored watching curling wasted...heading to the store right now. Wonder how Corona mixes with curling? Is that legal?

Re: olympics
I think there are laws prohibiting the transport of "stones" across the US-Mexico borders and the drinking of Mexican beer at a curling event.

Re: olympics
Corona will curl your stomach. When we were young we would go over the border to drink in Tijuana, Rosarito Beach and Ensenada. Corona was the cheap beer. Actually, I'm just ticked I didn't think to import it, stick a lime on the top and overcharge for it.

From the paper this morning. MTS: looks like Crespi snuck by GGP. DP got clobbered by Damien..I heard the ump had a really tight zone and the lack of a high velocity pitcher caught up with them, nice season for them however. The Mamaroneck team is loaded with prospects. Most of the starters should have the opportunity to play college ball. Some others I know of off the top of my head are Robbie Aviles, Steven Green, Tim Panetta, Mike Mercurio, Mike Volpe, Anthony Corona, Dan Zlotnick, Anthony Iacomini, Dan Sorine. There are definitely more. Section 1 is loaded with talent all around and should enjoy another banner year next year (especially as both Kennedy and Mamaroneck were lead by underclassmen, and the...

Summer College Ball Update
This is not intended to minimize the Corona Virus crisis in any way, BUT just more information for those concerned about summer collegiate leagues: IF, summer ball can be played, and that's a wait and see thing like everything else, it will have an interesting element: the Seniors, now having another year of eligibility (although mom and dad might not write that big check for school just for another season), can play wooden bat league this summer, and the teams I've spoken to in our league...

World Turned Upside Down
I will preface by noting that I am generally a worrier to begin with, so if it wasn't this it'd be something else. I can't help but wonder about the precarious financial situation all colleges with be in for the next several years. Mid-Majors in particular. Between the NCAA cutting funding to the D1s after the loss of March madness revenue, and colleges having to reimburse housing $ to students sent home and other Corona mitigation costs, I can't imagine what the landscape is going to look...

online Grades
How do you think colleges and high schools will handle grades during this time? My son's Business Management Class which we were told from the beginning would be one of the hardest classes he would take is this spring. 2 players took it this fall and failed and are re-taking it. He had an A in it pre-Corona and is now at a low C. They had daily grades and extra projects they could do when it was a classroom class. Now that it is online they have no more daily grades or extra projects. Just...

Adjusting the 2022 recruiting timeline
Ya'll need something to talk about something besides Corona. Baseball is all about making the adjustment. Well we just took a couple huge curveballs for strikes (Corona cancelling HS & college season, NCAA & MLB increasing # of players through additional eligibility and smaller draft). 2021's gameplan is to attend anything that isn't cancelled, send video to any schools of interest (and probably some a level or two down) it's going to be a bloodbath (as stated in another post). Good...

What does an Ivy, Patriot League or D3 coach do now to fill 2021 class?
There's been a lot of discussion about the unfortunate circumstances the corona virus NCAA "do-over" will cause to current college players, incoming classes, and future recruiting classes. But what about coaches at schools that, by and large, can't take advantage of players' 5th year. Ivy's and Patriot league don't allow red shirts. Most D3s are so darned expensive and the students are so "40 year focused" that a 5th year isn't likely for most. So how does a coach fill the 2021 class if this...

Interference with Stalker Sport 2
Has anyone had any experience with things interfering with the readings on a Stalker Sport 2? I've been using mine in my basement where I have fluorescent lighting and I'm getting lower readings than I've gotten on my college coaches gun. I know the manual says fluorescent lighting can cause interference but wasn't sure how much it affects it. Thanks

Re: How fast does a LHP really need to throw to play D1 or D3?
Can't affect your height, so who cares. An Ivy coach (in another sport) told me that his biggest recruiting mistake his first year was pursuing recruits who weren't admittable. I would think your 80s plus velocity and your (probably correctly) expected high scores will get your candidacy a some attention..the rest is up to you to continue improving. Just remember....Young and Ohlendorf are recent pitchers from Princeton. Darling came out of Yale. Probably 2/3 of every Ivy baseball roster...
