Waterloo's field I believe is 325 LF line, 365 LF gap, 380 to straightaway center, 365 RF gap, and 305 RF line. Surprisingly not too many actually go out in right field and when they do, they go really out! The wind blows out of the south a lot which comes in from right field so it has to be a line shot to get out. The RF foul pole is right next to the sidewalk right next to the road. It can't go any further back and the field can't be rotated due to the track on the 3rd base side of the field.

The Bulldogs are expected to be on a new field in the next 2-3 years anyway to go along with the new high school..

BBFan58,

With the shorter left and right field lines at Wolter's, did they compensate by making the walls alot higher like they did in right field at Glenbrook South?

Hopperhop, no they didn't, although we did suggest it. They have not changed the distance numbers, it still shows the old dimensions.
We know both teams have to play there and the wind blows in most of the time. However in two varsity games and a JV game there have beeen a total of 6, whereas in past years that would have been the annual total. Just wait for the warm weather and southerly winds!
Lake Park 2 Bartlett 0 Great pitchers duel with two lefties battling it out. LaPorta from LP was great. 6 1/3 7 K's 3BB 2 hits. King from Bartlett was also great with 5 IP 9 K's 2BB. Lake Park scored in the first after a lead off HBP a couple of passed balls and a ground out. We scored in the 5th on a walk, a hit and run single, and an error. Ryan Overton came in with two on and one out to finish the game for LP. Fun game to be a part of especially when you are on the winning end. LaPorta is now 2-0 Lake Park is 4-1.
Neuqua Valley 9
Lake Park 5
Sloppy play by the Lancers gave NV many extra chances. David for the Wildcats threw great after the first inning. It was good to see him pitch well after being injured seriously in a car crash last summer. Even though LP was on the losing team, it is always good to see a great comeback story.
You've heard correct.

I threw for Leyden.

4 IP, 7 K's, 3 HBP, 1 ER. We had a quite a few errors throughout the game.

Game ended up being called in the bottom of the 5th due to field conditions.

Zenger threw for Hinsdale. We only managed 1 hit off of him. I'm not completely sure on his line though.

Final score was 7-1 when it was called, but I believe it reverted back to 3-1 since it was in the middle of an inning.

WP - Zenger
LP - Weaver

Sounds like the field must have been pretty sloppy.

It goes to a "internal" email system that you can correspond through.....(you can set it up so that you are emailed whenever you receive a PM in your inbox)
bystndr, the field actually help up fairly well for most of the game. Towards the end it started to spiral downward though.

onebounce, the quote is from an author named Marianne Williamson. It was used by Nelson Mandella in his inauguration speech in 1994.

I had to condense it down...here is the full quote.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

It is an amazing quote...although it takes up nearly the whole bill of my hat. Wink

"Risi can really hit-- Muck can really pitch"

ballyall - Risi did have 2 of the 3 HP hits; Muck came in a did a very good job at the end, throwing 2 scoreless innings.
I thought all 3 pitchers did a nice job. White gave up only 3 hits; Muck induced Risi to hit into a double play (MS second baseman made a nice pickup on a hard hit ball)after Gordon reached on a MS error. Our guy (Jon Menke) went the distance, giving up 4 hits. His splitter kept MS off balance and induced 11 ground outs to go with the 4 strikeouts while White and Muck combined for 6 strikeouts. Unfortunately our infield made 3 fielding errors plus a throwing error; three of the errors lead to 2 of the runs. In fact, both teams had some shaky defense, as Maine South had 3 errors, none of which proved fatal in the long run. Even though we lost, it was fun watching the pitchers battle and the teams played. Your guys did a nice job.
