I've always thought 2bagger has had some very good insight into the local scene. I'd bet he has spent a lot more time around some of these players than the HS Coaches have.

Perhaps the kid's HS Coach didn't realize he was a very good hitter. Those things happen, especially to pitchers. I know a pitcher who was hitting the living daylights out of the ball, but his HS Coach decided he couldn't hit, having never seen him in the batter's box. And that team couldn't hit.

Maybe PR needs his bat after all.
It is always ok to state your opinion, so state it. In my opinion you have yet to do that
example one
"I guess pr is glad they figured out that tj can hit"
example Two
"Good thing they decided tj could hit again"

This is not opinion, it's sarcasm. It wasnh't until I called you out that you stated your opinion.

Fastball, I am not questioning his insight. I am sure there was pretty good reason why TJ didn't hit earlier in the season.

I will state this I have never seen a coach write out a line-up that he didn't think will give his team the best chance of winning. Something to think about.
I am glad you figured it out playball. Once again I was stating that I think tj can and should hit. If it came out sarcastic it was probably meant for roy since he has ripped a program on this site. Honestly though I thought most people would understand that when I write tj can hit they would figure out what I was saying. I am sure you are absolutley correct that a coach always makes out a line-up that he thinks can give his team the best chance of winning and I might add that there are never any outside influences in any program. That being said it appears that their current line-up at pr is doing fine. Once again so there is no misunderstanding this is just my opninion.
Hmmm...

Playball2....I sometimes think you make the mistake of thinking all coaches work and think as you would or do. I really doubt you would ever put a lineup out there that didn't give you the best chance to win, sooner or later. After watching for many years, it is clear that not all coaches either are able to or can do so.

Coaches are people too, and that means for better and for worse.

I know you are close to The PR Coach, but 2bagger makes good points and although I didn't see the sarcasm, it is an art!
Since all you guys are caught up in talking about the PR Wolves, I will too. The Ridge is 7-0 since the line-up change and have a new 2B, soph Chad Ljunggren. He plays good D and can stick it. He was 3-4 with 2 RBI's today and had the game tying 2 RBI single vs. Whitney Young on Thursday. I think he's 6-11 so far in his three varsity games. The other two 2B on PR were not getting the job done. Since this position was a little bit of a concern for the Wolves, they had to do something about it. And I think they are ok with their lineup situation for the rest of the season.
If someone wants to inject a little sarcasm to make their point ...so what ? Playball --you should let people speak their mind without trying to make them feel like they have broken some kind of golden rule . High school baseball coaches are human just like the rest of us . Im sure we all respect the job that the coaches have in front of them , but should be able to comment freely without being put down.

2bagger hadn't seen how TJ struggled in practice or in his early at bats in the season. The only wrong assumption may have been thinking the coaches didn't know TJ could hit. Of course they knew.

Haskins may not have seen TJ hit before...but Royer knew firsthand what damage TJ could do from coaching with the Hurricanes last summer. But you play games and practice in the present. TJ has really worked hard at getting his swing back on track. He along with his teamates have had a resurgence of late. But that is only the last 10 days. Still many games left.

But 2bagger has the right to his opinion...even if sarcastic. Not offended...just amused.

Sulltiger, you may want to read my response again, I simply stated and proved that there was no opinion posted. No put down present, just fact. I am not indifferent to opinion on any topic. Secondly, I am not responsible for how a poster feels who uses sarcasm to disguise an opinion. As far as a golden I believe that the use of sarcasm toward a coach or coaching staff (they, as it was stated) is flat out disrespectful. It's just my opinion.

Fastball, I am close with the PR coach and I am familiar with why TJ was not in the line-up early in the season.

Hobbs you crack me up. Not to discount the talent on PR but lets be fair. GLN is not quite the talent that PR is, in fact your division in the FVC is not that strong. Actually PR has has had problems with the other division. So lets see where you end up in a few weeks.

Good luck
Tonight in Chillicothe, IVC beats Driscoll 10-4. Sophomore Cody Kentzel gets the win for the Grey Ghosts. Sophomore Derek Sprout goes 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Josh Parr goes 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Billy Seiler goes yard.

For Driscoll, Anthony Campanella got the loss, but was 3-for-3 at the plate.

Good game tonight and if the weather holds, should be some very good games at Bartonville tomorrow in the Statewide Showdown.
