Loyola gets past Leyden, and it really is no surprise. They are a nice little team, but they were definitely helped by the number of off days. Bottom Line--Weaver cannot pitch everyday and their offense was average.

Again, I like the team, I am not trying to diss them, and I certainly wanted them to beat Loyola, but this was certain to be the end of their line.
Libertyville Sectional:

Carmel 16, Buffalo Grove 1 (5)

Rockford-Guilford Sectional:

Prairie Ridge 4, Hononegah 2

This means that these two sectional winners will face each other Monday night at Alexian Field, in the supersectional. Projected Pitching Matchup: the Ridge's T.J. Swank (Coastal Carolina) against Carmel's Jordan Siversten (Southern Illinois). Should be a great game under the lights!
Does anyone know whether it is confirmed (deleted) is out for Monday ? I hear he is ineligible based on total credits to graduate. A Carmel coach said it was true but thought it should be worked out by Mondayan play. How do you do that with the school year over ? If true it is too bad. He is a heck of a player.

EDITED BY COACHB25:

Player's name removed.

said Gandolfi. "(Sivertsen) shut out one of the best hitting teams I've seen in Highland Park (in Wednesday's sectional semifinal) and Lyne looked really good (on Saturday)."

Deleted and see my post to follow.

Instead, Carmel will turn to Moree (7-0), who last pitched in the Corsairs' 12-2 five-inning regional semifinal win over Lake Forest.

Give the school credit for following the rules and not breaking them.

Easy enough to delete any thread. I have to walk a fine line on what can/should be posted. I'm sure I make mistakes.

rebirdrbi, I don't know why you insisted in making the post I edited above in lieu of knowing that I had made a previous point in deleting a player's name.

The Illinois Fourm is difficult, at best, to moderate. Living so far from Chicago, I know little of all of your teams but am learning a lot about pettiness. It sure seems to be in abundance. Let's keep kids names out of these posts. If you desire to make quotes of situations and want to provide links to newspaper articles, then do so. That will at least put topics in perspective. BTW, we're down to one Moderator in the Illinois Forum. Should anyone find posts that they object to, pm me or MN-Mom. You can also hit the "report button." I certainly don't intend to babysit and so, I'm not willing to put up with some "members" who seem intent on breaking rules established in the Board Manners. Please keep that in mind. Take care,

I've had an inquiry about what is allowed to be posted. Read the Board Manners. We will not allow "rumors" to be posted which will hurt the reputation of a young player. If you think of a post and would not want that post made about your own child then don't post it. It's very simple. IMO, root for you team/player/coach and avoid the attacks and all will be fine. I wonder about people who get their "jollies" by attacking others. Something very wrong there.
kids names are mentioned on this site all the time. i also never said anything nasty about any player. the school did do the right thing, as they should! the story was in the tribune, let's assume it is / was not a rumor...the article said he did not play, in the end that is all i was saying. the kid is extremly talented, and was awesome against h.p. i hope he has a bright future.
CLC was a .500 team all year but the conference they were in helped them because the rest of the teams were 4A, so when it got broken up and they went to 3A, they had the advantage of playing a tough schedule all year. I have to say 3A was very water downed, no offense to any of the teams but other than JCA or Rock Falls the teams to make up 3A weren't that good. Nazareth was a #1 seed and they had a disappointing year and finished around .500 also.

In 4A, i'd have to say Nequa/Prairie Ridge is going to be great, too bad they can't play each other in the finals cause I think either team would beat OPRF and Wheaton North...........but that's just my opinion. Kroll against Swank, with Heesche, Martini in relief and Rowand and McKinley in relief for Nequa........wow. I'd say Prairie Ridge because their offense is better than Nequa's but it's hard to pick against Kroll. I don't know if you can call any team in state a sleeper but don't count out Rock Falls winning it all in 3A.

I always believed the the FVC's highest level sport was baseball. They have had some very good players and teams through the years.

Here's your order Coach...one really, really abundant petticoat.

You look a bit puzzled Coach...I did get the order right didn't I?

Wink

Truly Darrell, thank you for all of the work you do for this site.
