Re: Have a Good Thanksgiving

itsrosy ·
We on this forum have much to be thankful for. But, I find myself thinking more about our soldiers this year than in years past. They sacrifice so much that we can continue to live in a free country and enjoy all that America has to offer. My prayers to those brave men and women and their families to enjoy a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

I agree with Rosy. As we enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner, we all should acknowlege the sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform. If only the politicians would get some sense and bring them home.

Hot Corner Dad- If it was my son I would have and still would do the same thing. I don't have the answers to this problem of drinking and driving. I don't even know where to begin. I was a prosecutor for 14 years. I have seen this epidemic in every shape and size. I have spent many nights called out of my warm bed to assist the police in a fatal investigation. Very awe-inspiring. Thank you for posting this recitation. I've seen it before, but somehow these days, it takes on new meaning. It sickens me to know that not all teachers recite the Pledge of Allegiance, not all students recite it....nor do they stand up when it is said out loud to start the school day. In fact, during the GA/GA Tech football game the Tech baseball players went around to tailgaters and raised money for him and...

Re: A scouts opinion on the new bats

Brian Jordan, ex-Brave, Cardinal and Atlanta Falcon, was part of the announcing crew at a recent Gwinett Braves game. He took pre-game BP with the team using one of the BBCOR bats. He said "they were really bad" and didn't perform at all like the old metal bats (no kidding). I heard a Stat the other day; at the season half way point HR's are down by half. Last year there were 273 shutouts thrown by mid-season, this year - 444!

floridafan, good advice but are you trying to bury my in box? p.s. and Goosegg is correct, spots do open in the spring due to grades, girl friends, or injuries. Wow, this thread started a long time ago... bumping this up so that players/parents realize that summer team rosters, normally filled by mid-October (at least in our league) are now starting to develop openings due to grades, injuries, etc. We've lost 3 in the past 2 weeks to injury, parental illness, and a need to earn serious money in a summer job. (We already filled the positions) This is about the time of year that openings start to appear, with injuries and grades the normal culprits,...

Very ironic that this comes up on 3 major boards nearly simultaniously. I think it mis-named, but a tremendous pitching strategy..I consider it to be the most intellectually mature approach to pitching, one that in one hand seems to fore go stats but trusts the integrity of the team. I think without 2 specific pitches in their degrees of variety the thought train wouldn't exist. It's a familiar scent to anyone who's encountered a rainstorm in the...
