Not to beat a dead horse on the 38-0 barrage, but you also should throw out all the stats from that game as well. It may has well have been a rainout. If it isn't official, it doesn't count, none of it. All of you who may question this, please check the NFHS for the definition of a completed game. This is one of the reasons schools start games at 4:15pm before daylight savings time, not only to avoid darkness but also to allow the trailing team five innings of at bats. Someone also may ask why I am eager to point this out? The reasoning is that any team who beats another team 38-0 should lose the credit, stats and even the win based on a technicality. Like I said instead of running it up, they should've consulted a rule book.
I'm playing catch up...DGN struggling right now a little.

Sat:
Game 1: Morton 12 - DGN 8
Game 2: Morton 2 - DGN 1

Morton's Pisarczyk is an exceptionally quick, stong-armed catcher and played well in both games.

In game 1, Morton hit the ball hard and often. It was not necessarily a defensive gem by either team.

In game 2, both teams pitched well and played better defense. DGN LHP LaBuda threw another gem for DGN, but didn't get enough run support.

Tuesday:
Morton 2 - DGN 1

Well pitched game, better defense played than on Saturday.

DGN record 3-5. Feeling a little like UCLA today. We still need to play 3 games each with OPRF, HC, LT, and GBW as well as single games with DGS, Rockford Guillford, and Naper Central. We'll need to improve to survive and I think we will.

it made the sun-times today.
Shame on a coach who beats another team 38-0 in 4 innings. Is that the same coach that works with the Norwood Blues in the summer?

Shame, too, on the coach and the team who beat Proviso East 24-0 in baseball. Why don't you bring your basketball team to the Temple in Maywood and get smoked 98-22 in basketball; and, see how you like it?

yeah i admit it was pretty booring. the only + for me was that i got to go in, because im not a started right now, so i got to get a few hits in. we did bunt. it wasnt that we ran the score up. after about 15 we stoped being agressive, and by 25 flat out quit. but every routine pop-up, or grounder they would miss. No disrespect to sullivan, but they just didnt make any plays at all. the firt inning i think they had about 11 walks. at one point in the game their second basemen picked up his phone on the feild and started talking, who then moved to third and did it again. finally once to get out of an inning pildes had someone lay down a bunt, and walk, where they eventually turned a double play.

Another "tough" game....

21-0

Once again, I ask all the coaches: How can one coach do that to another team? How would you like someone to pound you like that?

Beenthere, I can't speak for the situation. My team beat a team 24-0 a couple of years ago. It was a team that had beaten us 2 years running and wasn't a bad program. I put kids in that hadn't played, made substitutions with orders to make outs... Simply put, we hit the ball on the ground and the other team just didn't get any outs. Their coach asked me not to make a "mockery of the game" and simply swing and miss. It happens. I know this isn't sound reasoning. We did drop that team after that year. My one consolation is that no "starter" had 3 at bats in that game so I know we had good intentions. JMHO!

Where's that beef stand?

GW, I was going to try to see that game (I'm an old Friar), but I couldn't make it. It would have been a good opportunity to hit Johnnie's for a beef and ice.

How close is your "Little Joe's" to Nazareth HS. It looks like you play there on Monday. One of my players is playing at Naz and DGN has no game. Maybe I'll try to swing by and we can commiserate over a beef.
