Game 1: Glenbard West 4 - DGN 1
GBW RHP throws a complete game gem.

Game 2: DGN 10 - GBW 9
DGN scores 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th to get the win. DGN LF Ian Svitak hit a gap shot to the wall driving in the final 3 runs.

Second game was a tough loss for the GBW kids, but they are a good team and are well coached. I expect them to be tough on opponents all year.

While Proviso West may not be a very good team, Willowbrook is not a walkover. They put a good team on the field year-in and year-out. Even if both of these teams were walkovers, they are teams that are on their schedule and last time I checked you have to play teams that are on your schedule. Wins are Wins.

why would reddevil bomskis mention that. he simply said what hc's record is, as most teams list. sorry the schedule had them play proviso early, that doesnt take away from there hot start. theres no reason for you to be so bitter.

Can we hear a little more about the LT/OPRF series? What happened to OPRF? Or was LT just that good?

ND 9 Lane 1: Funny when ND's #5 shuts down what supposedly is a good team in Lane.

I'd just say LT's pitchers have had good defense behind them and OP-RF made some errors but, LT hit there pitchers hard all over the place. If LT's lineup continues to stay hot, they will be hard to beat. And the pitching is strong. I think I saw about 8 hits in 2 games for OP-RF. It was a good thing to see LT hit the ball to all feilds. It should hekp in the near future if they continue......

Carmi took two from Lincoln 3-0 and 11-0. Tyler Choate threw a 1 hitter in game one and Keegan Dennis had a 5 hitter in game two. Dennis was 88-92mph for most of the game.

Copeland pitches 6 innings, gives up one earned. He also goes 4-5 with 2HR's and a double and 6RBI's.

This is the first time Elk Grove has beat Hersey in the last 7 years.

DuQuoin over Sparta 9-0. Bryant George with 14 k's and 1 hit allowed. He faced only 1 over the minimum and the hit was an infield dribbler. This is his second 1 hit shutout of the year in the other game he had 17 k's. He also hit his 4th HR of the year.

Barrington 11 Palatine 5. Chapman dominant for 5 innings give up two cheap runs, then 3 more on a crazy inside the park HR. 13 K's

Junior Matt Haas went 4 1/3 in his first varsity start on the mound and junior Matt Widick finished, giving up one hit in the final 2 2/3 innings.

Zach Williams (Olivet Nazarene) had two triples and a double.

The Titans are currently lead by firstbaseman T.J. McManus who has really been hitting the ball. His numbers are: .463 BA 2 HR 16 RBIs. Hopefully T.J. and his teammates will be able to keep up the good play.

Sounds like the same TJ McManus that used to play for the Glenview Blaze when his Dad was coaching the team. Jim McManus was the coach and always has his teams well prepared and well scolled in the fundamentals of the game. I also seem to remember TJ ripping the ball back then also, glad he is still doing it.

I was at your game, unfortunately on the wrong side of the score. I like your team very much, a nice combination of speed and power.

Speaking of the Blaze, isn't that Coach Stevens son playing 2nd base? He also had a big game. My son played with Mike Kerr few years ago on the Lake County Braves and Mike could always rake. Nice team that will be a factor in the CSL.
