IDOL THOUGHTS

Keep in mind that nobody loses once they make the Final 12---this group tours once the final show is done--- they will all make out well be it in records/concerts, movies or broadway

Dont cry for those eliminated now--they get to rest up for the tour

And most of all, Pickler will have a chance to now find the boyfriend she was complaining about not having. Give me a break--she has to have them lined up around the block.

I am sure Elliot appeals to a segment out there, but he is just not my cup of tea.

CD - Elliott didn't do it for me tonight. I thought first round has to go to Chris. He was excellent. Also, even though the judges didn't care for Taylor, I enjoyed it! I was disappointed in Katharine though.

My daughter and I both liked Elliot's second song.

As far as the second half, I thought Elliott and Katharine had better performances than earlier tonight, but none of them really blew me away.

Elliot reminds me of the nerdy kid in high school who sings in a school production and is suddenly cool.

Paris is just flat out annoying.

Chris is too one dimensional.

Katherine is a beauty. She can sing, but seems awkward and unsure on stage. Sort of like the duckling who grows into a swan.

Taylor is like the lounge/wedding singer getting his big shot. Love his energy and enthusiasm. He is obviously having fun.

Hard to pick a winner in this group.

I thought Kelli was the most entertaining. Too bad she is gone.

First round goes to Chris in my mind... followed by Elliot, paris, Katherine and Taylor in that order...

Second round coming up

Okay.....must have been watching a different show on the west coast....because from what I heard and saw....Chris did well, first song....second....not good. Elliot....reverse....his second song was great....Paris...consistent.....both her songs....great......Katherine.....like Elliot...first song so-so...but second song....very good....and Taylor.....well, maybe I'm just a little prejudice...but like Paris....thought he did a great job....both songs......

East coast....feel free to post early and often tomorrow.....

Wasn't thrilled with Chris' second song either, Taylor is not a Beatle... but did Ok on a song that he should not have sung, Katherine was much better on second song, Paris - not that excited with second song, Elliot did well on second song...

Overall - Elliot, Chris, Taylor, Katherine, Paris... I think one of the girls goes home...

I look at it a bit differently--to be an "Idol" you need the total package--voice looks and performance

I also think about what can be done with the voice in the studio

Nobody blew anyone away last night and I think Katherine saved herself with the second song

My take on last nite: Chris, Katherine, Paris, Taylor and Elliott

The voting seems to be flowing in a predictable order. I think the others will be picked off until it is just Chris and Kat. May not have been the best vocal but by far the most entertaining was the white boy playing the funky music.....

Still pulling for the Soul Patrol, baby!

As a disinterested Kellie fan, this is how I saw it:

1. Paris--Great on both songs. By far the best voice of the five.
2. Chris--Great first song. Not so good on the second, but still solid.
3. Taylor--Definitely lounge act material and not an "Idol", but better than the last two last night.
4. Kat--First song was awful. Second song is a song that I absolutely hate, but I liked it when she sang it!
5. Elliot--If you can't make us forget "Scotty the Body" then you dont' deserve to come back next week. Second song was BORRRRRIIINNNNGGGG.

Now that my pretty bride has got me watching.
Here's how I see it for May 3.

The following Top Three are safe
1. Chris
2. Taylor
3. Elliot

The bottom two for May 3 are:
4. Katherine
5. Paris

Yet Paris will NOT get the votes she
needs to stay.

Wow...I REALLY liked Taylor's second song "Something". Always interesting to hear other's opinions tho. Granted, he's not your typical American Idol. But I do enjoy his uniqueness. I also really enjoyed Katherine's second song too. Nice to see her relax a bit and look like she's having some fun. I just do not like Paris...she's like a little girl pretending to be older than her age week after week. I really wish she had waited a couple of years to try out for AI once she developed her own true persona. Elliot.... I really like him but did not particularly enjoy either of his song choices last night. Chris....I think he's great for his genre. But he's just so one-dimensional for this competition which requires much more of an eclectic approach. But Chris will be successful whether he wins AI or not (thankfully..he won't NEED to sing country or other genres once he's out on his own).

Don't know why, but it kind of turned me off watching someone sing a song on her knees. Don't think I've ever seen that before. But... thought it was funny to see the "funky white boy" finish up flat on his back!

Guess I don't remember this much theatrics in past AI years. My vote... None of the above! However, I do think Chris and Katherine are the best this year. I'm still trying to figure out how Rueben Studdard became the American Idol.

Basically ditto for me as well. I believe when Chris does the right songs, he is very talented but I do hear the criticisms that say he is too "one-dimensional." I believe Chris will win this year however.

IMHO - Kelly Clarkson is going to be hard to top and this is supported by her commercial success beyond idol. I think both Carrie and Beau last year were excellent talents.

As awful as Scotty the Body Savol was last year, he blew Kat and Elliot away when he did Against All Odds and On Broadway. What does that say about the talent this year???

I was happy with last night's elimination....and I agree Lafmom, I think Elliott will be the next to go. So did I hear correctly last night? Next week will be Elvis songs? If true, I think Taylor will be having some fun next week

Taylor lost me when he swung and missed trying to kick over the mike stand during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" a few weeks back. Is the fix in? Seems like they are playing right into his hands by having "Elvis Night".

Pop....a LOT of people seem to be fond of Taylor...gray hair and all.....and ain't it grand?

Would like to think that Elvis week will help Taylor....but....just like when your favorite hitter gets up at the plate....you never know.....

Have to admit Chris and Kat are good, but Chris is too one dimensional, and Kat....think her nervousness is hurting her.....and Elliott...improves every week....but not enough time left for him.....IMHO
