I don't think Kat chose well. Appeared to have fun up there - but I think it was a poor song choice.

Remember, like Taylor has the dirty old gals vote, McPhee has the dirty old men vote going.

And Taylor just NAILED his 2nd song (IMHO). Really left his own mark on it.

I don't like Elliot, but I think Kat is getting voted off - not good.

I didn't care for her outfit either, but I thought she did a very good job with second song.

WOW....Taylor's "In the Ghetto" was TERRIFIC!!!! Ladynmom...you'll love it!

Didn't like "A little less conversation" by Chris at all! Very boring except for the last 8 seconds of the song. I think he should have picked "Trouble"...the song that Elliott sang.

I don't understand who is helping them pick the songs.

Elvis had many songs that would have been better for judging purposes.

I would have liked to have heard "Any Way You Want Me" and I really wish someone would have sung "Peace In The Valley" which is my all time favorite sung by Elvis.

I still like Chris the best, but this is starting to look like a toss up!

Sorry, I just don't understand why Taylor is still on the show. He sounds like a million other people. He may have original personality, but that is a fairly routine voice. IMO

However, now I'm thinking he might have the Ruebin Studdard thing going for him. Seems like people like him for something other than his singing. Paula has never met a contestant she didn't LOVE. At least she didn't BAWL tonight.

PG....you're the man when it comes to judging baseball talent but a singing judge you aint!

PG - If one of them had son "Peace In the Valley" I would have been doing Paula's act! That is such a beautiful song and you're are completely correct - would have pulled on many heartstrings out there!

LadyNMom - Elliott's just not gettin' it done IMO. Howevever, I tried to vote for Taylor and could NEVER get through.

I still think Chris will probably win it, but like TR always says, they'll all have opportunities for a future.

If you want to see a star on the horizon it is the CHRIS YOUNG kid who just won the NASHVILLE STAR title---he sings , play and writes and as one of the judges noted he has the "X" factor

When I was a kid, my mother played this song all the time, but it was the version recorded by Johnny Cash which may have pre-dated Elvis' version. Regardless, the song, when sung properly can make one a believer.

I still think Chris is by far the most talented. I think he has heard his critics and toned it down a bit. He belted out a few notes at the end of the one song however. I am not moved by Taylor but can see why he appeals to many. Elliot does not seem to have the appeal looks-wise and his musical tastes are not mine. That said, he is talented. Kat is pretty but I think she is the odd one out.

TR hit it on the head. Besides Chris Young being the equivilant of a 5 tool player, Nashville Star was a very underrated show.

I also like their elimination process with the fans voting on eout and the judges the other---somewhat stops it from being a popularity contest

At this point I don't think it's about who's better or worse. What you have left is four different styles of performers. It's no longer a matter of talent, it's a matter of your personal taste. They all appeal to different groups of fans.

And they've all gotten enough exposure to make it in their own genres from this point out, whether or not they win.

Those who don't win even be better off. My guess is they are now contractually obligated to go forward on a prescribed basis if they win (the "million dollar recording contract" they tout). Those who don't win probably have something closer to free agent status. They can probably command more lucrative deals, a la Clay Aiken.

TR.... I thought all of the last 3 contestants on Nashville Stars were very good with Chris Taylor the obvious star, tons of talent.....looking forward to his first recording....

Lafmom.....we decided my husband would cast a vote for Elliott last night......and my vote for Taylor.....well I got through on Taylor's line toward the end of the 2 hours....but we never got to vote for Elliott....the lines stayed busy up until the end.....if that is any indication....Elliott is NOT going home tonight.

I was only trying to indicate where I thought the fan base for the different contestants was, nothing more, nothing less.
I did not realize you were such sensitive fellas!

I consulted my Ouija board, crystal ball, and even asked my wife who has never been wrong, and all pointed to Kat being given the boot.

...........however the Ouija board hasn't been the same since MD 20/20 spill in '78, the crystal ball has been cracked many times while used in different capacities, and the wife claims that a divine intervention has allowed her the right to change her mind. Who goes, who knows. I think it will come down to what faction of the American public had nothing better to do last night than sit on the phone and stuff the ballot box.

Everyone should be sensitive to such issues. If that's your point of view then, fine.
